Re: Rep Retirement Lodge: Choose A Number

Yes, but there there is such a thing as too much of a good thing I guess. Message was using alcohol straight up is not good.

My understanding is 62-80 is ideal. 100% just evaporates too fast? Soemthign to that effect. The water helps maintain the solution on the surface and gives it time to affect the virus.

I'd wonder if there wasn't some sort of finer molecular chemistry going on there though. It gets pretty technical pretty quick but I'm wondering if the polarities, solubilities, or even non-covalent bonds have something to do with it. Basically the way the virus interacts with the fluid around it. I don't know enough about virology to know the exact reasons why.

Either way, 62-80% is best. Rub all over your hands. Let it take as much time as it needs to dry. Better yet, wash with soap and water (hot or cold) frequently.

Edit: Oof, I didn't finish my thought mid-sentence.

I have tickets to the ReplayFX gaming convention in Pittsburgh in July. Part of this festival is Pinburgh, one of the biggest pinball tournaments in the world. Tickets for Pinburgh are limited to 1000 entries - they go on sale on a random Saturday in February at noon Eastern, and everyone gets to play F5 Roulette for them. They sold out in under 30 seconds. I got lucky and got an entry. My flight and hotel are booked.

If this gets canceled go to TwitchCON 1. Actually just remove the entire TwitchCON system as it will no longer have meaning.
Would they postpone it? I'm going through our 4 city tour I planned to follow Pearl Jam and canceling each hotel and flight and other reservations. Other than tons of hours, there hasn't been much $$ lost. Tickets will be honored when the shows are rescheduled. Why wouldn't thins happen for a Con?

There was a tweet out there with an illustration of the lipid layer and how soap and alcohol sanitizers work against the virus. In the junk that is my Twitter feed, I can't find it... Sorry.

Good Morning Lodge!

Is the Lodge Country Club stocked for emergencies?

Woke up to the Yahoo news update telling me Stock futures crashed and then my messenger feed is full of people who want me to advise them about travel plans. They are all older or are asking about relatives who are older. Think like Nancy R. Just say no. I am going into hiding.

Just give them thoughts and prayers ;)

Evening, Lodge.

These next few weeks are gonna be nuts at work. Up to 20% over normal business. And guess whose building has all the paper products and disposable lab coats and such? Whee! A 12 manhour job at my building is currently running at 16+ hours. My my my CORONA!

And then of course, some ******* has his wedding/reception scheduled during the Gopher game this weekend. What an arse. ;)

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge: Choose A Number

I recommend ethanol. 60%+

Cheaper, won't remove skin layers, available.
