Re: Rep Retirement Lodge: Choose A Number

Afternoon, Lodge.

Did a couple stop-n-gos at a couple local businesses to pick up some gift cards and take-out food, doing my part to help keep them afloat during the semi-shutdown. All of them were wearing masks/gloves and sanitizing after each transaction (including doors after one entered/exited).

Thank goodness I have a metric crap-ton in my Netflix queue. I have a feeling I'll be burning through that over the next week or so.

Good Afternoon Lodge!

We did yard work that we usually don't get done for at least another month. Usually this is the time where mr les is incommunicado in some hotel during playoffs. Watching the virtual thread. Told mr les about it. He and the trainer from the other team think it is a hoot. And now it turns out people heal at an amazing rate with simulators so they can relax and have a few :D

Huh? It was in the program guide! So weird.

So I have a quick question for you les. Intake a multivitamin and vitamin D every morning. I bought vitamin E last summer, not to take but to pierce and use the oil (?) in the capsules for my scars. I see on the label it provides antioxidant support. Should I start taking them? I’m trying to stay healthy as I can. Would adding these to my daily vitamin regimen be an OK thing to do? Also, what is good to eat or drink to boost your immune system?

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge: Choose A Number

I just went to type in a new URL (while on this page) on my iPhone and the predictive word that came up before I could start typing cane up with just one set of words:

“Ralph H. Baer”

I love my Juicy Juice Apple Juice. Vitamin C all the way. Diuretic (flushes system) and healthy for you. Not saying it's a cure-all, but it sure has helped me keep the bugs away.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge: Choose A Number

Well, we had the meeting today. We're NOT shutting down. We're splitting our staff. Half the staff is home one week, the other half is home the next week, etc. The people who have responsibilities deemed "critical" will be getting laptops and are expected to work from home on the weeks where they're not in the office. We're all getting paid for the entire time, salaried and hourly, until 5/1, and things will be re-evaluated at that point.

I'll take it in a heartbeat. I get my laptop tomorrow.
Tcbg's office is doing the same. They have a shared calendar to see what labs are being used when so that any onsite testing can be done by one person and to limit the number of people on site at any given time. They all have laptops and were assigned to projects that can primarily be done remotely. I am jealous.

SHower curtains are cheap and cover a lot.
mr les has been working from home. He is not one to make any sort of schedule. Virtual meetings are scheduled, rescheduled with no rhyme or reason. I am a person of habit. I like a schedule. This is the first time in >35 yrs together we have had this much time together when we are not on vacation (were we each have time carved out to do our own thing.
Oh boy!
On top of all the other stress, the bolded part is also something I am struggling with. A lot.

My routines are also in flux due to MN semi-shutdown. Gotta deal with it, though. It sucks.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge: Choose A Number

My wife and I have been nearly isolated since the first full week of February, taking care of a newborn. It's been tough, to say the least, the past few weeks. Three weeks ago we bought a MN Zoo family pass - big trails to walk, large indoor areas, as well, etc.. It was only the second time we left the house with our baby for social purposes. The week after we bought the pass, it pretty much rained or was too cold to confidently be at the zoo. Then the zoo announced that it's closed for an undetermined amount of time. Then they announce that they're closed through mid-May.

les - did you ever get the cable issue straightened out?

I bought ammonia yesterday thinking it was alcohol. Before I return it...does ammonia work to kill germs or is it just a good cleanser?

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge: Choose A Number

It is a good cleaner, but has different applications. You can find a lot of applications with a Google search.

Apparently direct TV didnt have it and by the time we worked that out (not by them telling us) both the games we wanted to watch were done.

EPA has a great page for what cleans what and how long it needs to have contact, etc.

Good Afternoon Lodge!

Been out in the yard. We are putting lattice up to cover under the sunroom. THis has been a project that mr les has avoided for 24 years. lilnsl did the deck last yr. Doing this now before the garden gets too full and we can't get back there. Psyched except.... My neck and shoulder are a mess. I usually keep them OK by going for a massage every 2 weeks. NOt open for the foreseeable future. My body is haveing quite the conversation with my brain about whether digging in rocky soil is good.

Hi everyone from sunny southern CT! Hope everyone is well. I've been trying to work from home and homeschool the two kids at the same time. Not a good combination if I want to be productive, but we'll figure it out.

Hiyah legal! Now we just need Unca Ray to serve Maaaaagahritahs!

We all just put lattice under the porch so it isn't a gaping hole on cement columns. mr les has been avoiding this since we put the house on before lilnsl was born. lilnsl likes to do this kind of stuff. mr les was still trying to stall but when I started clearing out the area lilnsl got on board and away we went. Have to figure out what to do with the last little bit- we built over the old macadam walk and that part the tar is still in place. The pick ax went to work earlier- oh to have a young back!! but this is a little trickier.

I am very, very sore.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge: Choose A Number

Afternoon, Lodge! Still trying to do my part supporting small businesses, ordered a take-out pizza from a semi-local joint (Grizzly's in Plymouth). Got there, and they said the first pizza was "mis-shapen" so they cooked up a second one, gratis, since they wanted to keep up to their standards (their words). 2-for-1 for the win!

In the past 3-4 days, I've seen the entire Craft Works family (Old Chicago, Rock Bottom Brewery, some others), and another local place (Punch Social) shut down permanently, due to the semi-shutdown of the state. I would rather not see any more in that situation. I'm getting more take-out/gift cards right now than ever. It may be a drop in the bucket, but if the word spreads and more people do this...there is hope.
