Morning!

Supposedly there is some big game of football today.

I just listened to that abomination of a fight song by Prince. I thought I was in church. JFC.

From Purple Rain in actual purple rain to that.

True (and pathetic) story - in high school, my best friend and I had the entire Massacree memorized, and we performed all eighteen and a half minutes of it for a bunch of people at the Senior All-Night Party. :D

And yes I know (to borrow a quote from 'diva):

Dorks  :o ;)

The original is my favorite, but The Massacree Revisited is funnier, if only for the line, "Arlo... how many things in the world are, eighteen minutes and twenty seconds long?" :D

And I almost put on my Tabasco shirt today. Whoops. :o

Morning, Lodge. Does someone else want to read 150 pages about Vietnam, write a paper on my vocation (whatever the hell that means) and come up with sources for a project on medieval penance, so I can drink beer and watch football all day? Please?

'Morning, Lodge.

I don't think we would want to see what would happen if I drank a whole bottle of that stuff. However, I was pretty bad last night, but I feel fine right now.

PS-this poll is awesome, and I don't even want to know what you guys would come up with for the 'Diva drink.

We'd open you your own "gentlemen's" club in Marquette called Senanicans. We could move the MV drinks there and have them dance.

Bloody Mary, hold the trimmings.

Wow, busy weekend, so what's new?

Since the weather was very April like the boss & I did some serious cleaning yesterday. Then watched the Gophers pee all over themselves (again) and spend the evening at Kienan's Irish Pub watching St. Dominic's Trio. For the record: Bushmills is awesome! As are Black & Tans. :)

I just learned yesterday from a bartender that Bushmills is protestant and Jameson is catholic when it comes to Irish whiskey.

I also learned that only Scotland and Canada call it Whisky. While Ireland and the US call it Whiskey. Minus one brand from Kentucky (not Jack) that spelled it without the "e".

I did know that, and I'm willing to offer the Orange some slack. :)

Pond Hockey tournament canceled for today. They sent out emails late yesterday, and I went in today to take care of refund/transferring credit to next year's tournament, only to be told then that I was supposed to reply to the email sent out late yesterday. Nowhere in the email did it say that.

And they weren't lying, there's a good 2-3" of water covering the rinks on Nokomis. :(

I can't say that I'm entirely sad, though, as I spent some time yesterday afternoon scraping ice from my elderly neighbor's drive. My hands are really sore, making it hard to type and grasp a hockey stick very well.

Afternoon, Lodge.

This morning, all the demo people at Sam's were called in for a meeting, informed that our department was cut, and that we were no longer employed. While this sucks in the interim, at least now I can look for and find something better.

:( Sorry to hear that, Bob. I know you were looking to get out anyway, but it sucks that you couldn't do it on your own terms. And on a Sunday? Low class.

Well, thanks for reminding me why I don't care for Walmart and Sam's Club. Hopefully you find something better, and soon!

Whoa - that's kinda drastic. No more demos? I thought that's what places like Sam's and Costco were known for.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 99: You can get anything you want, at Fooper's Restaurant.

That stinks Bob. Hopefully you can a) get something else quick and b) at least get unemployment until then.

Shouldn't 'Diva's drink just be a Red Cup and you can fill it with your choice of drink for $5? :)

Hello everyone!

I didn't die. But last night was incredible. Bourbon street never closes! We got back to hotel for a couple hours of sleep, now going out to eat and tailgating and such.

Skol vikings!

That does suck but at least you have the right attitude moving forward. Best of luck!

I had entertained the idea of applying for another position within Sam's, but after some thought, I deserve better, and I'll be ****ed if I don't get it.

Yeah; corporate decided to go with a third party. We were told we could apply for a job with that company, but there were no guarantees.

Thanks for the support, everyone.

Time to start a new job search, beginning with either substitute teaching or the Census.
