Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 94: Holidays, tournaments, presents and snow!

Remember to bring some home with you when you're up here next month :p

That may have been one of your wisest purchases, however.
Yeah, I think I will have to do that...but I didn't order a tostada, even though it is my favorite, the whole lettuce thing and frozen didn't work out well in my head.

and why do you say that? ;)

Probably wise, doesn't sound too pleasant to me either.

And because Ambo pizza is so completely totally worth it!

Good evening, Lodge. All I've done since getting back from Paint Thinner Land is work, eat and shovel.

Tech has a hockey history class. That is pretty cool.

Michigan has "History of College Athletics". We had an ungodly amazing collection of guest speakers, especially if you're a Michigan sports fan.

Lloyd Carr had promised he'd come in as soon as the season was over. He came to speak to our class at 11am, straight from Bo Schembechler's funeral, the Monday after the #1 vs #2 Ohio State game. That was pretty special.

ah. jello. let's not go there.

I like Ambo tostada pizza too!

NOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!! I am not looking forward to the sieve graduating. Even though he is an Atlanta Thrashers draft pick, I don't want to see him anywhere near the Thrash organization.

Yes.

Due to it being dead at work today, I took some voluntary time off to go Xmas shopping for my nieces. Yeah, didn't work out so well. I don't think I saw two parking spots open at either of the Targets I drove by, and I didn't even bother trying to park at Ridgedale.

So, hopefully it snows so bad everyone stops going to said stores, and I can get the gifts tomorrow night or Thu morn before work, with less crowds.

Go to the "newer" Target in Medina. I've never seen that place busy, even in the last few days. 101 and 55 - where the old Colonial Drive-In used to be

Go to MNS's Target, he can probably have someone towed for you!
Being a smaller store we don't get the traffic that a lot of the Super's or even bigger stores get. It gets busy this time of year, but not too bad compared to everyone else...

I think I can explain them...

Perspectives: each class section has a different topic that they study, look at from different perspectives (hense the name), write papers about and give speeches about. I think the point is to get you to take a complete view on topics. The class was pointless for me, because my section was taught by a crazy old yooper woman who should have been committed several years prior.

Revisions: All about writing and presentations and such. Learn how to write papers and give presentations. Basically stuff that any high school graduate should have mastered long ago.

Institutions: Covered stuff on how economics worked and also touched on how government and education work. Generally, also stuff that should be taught in high school.

These, along with World Cultures, were essentially the most pointless classes I had to take at Tech.
I don't think we had anything like Perspectives at UND. Revisions sounds like Tech and Business Writing combined with Public Speaking and Institutions sounds like Micro/Macroeconomics and Poli Sci.

Off of work until the 2nd. :)

I was tempted to make my first ever post on an HG-YBI thread, but I have not yielded to temptation. :D
Do it. Doooo it!

ONE OF US! ONE OF US!

There are some great teachers there, and there are some really FML terrible ones.
Was this about MTU, or pretty much any college/university in this country?

can I stab everyone?
I'd prefer it if you didn't stab 'ewe. And if you could make my stabbing non-fatal, it would be greatly appreciated. Other than that, have at it!
