Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 93: Midseason Excellence

I'll usually take a look at the Google StreetView so I can recognize what things should look like, especially at the destination if I've never been there before...

I highly recommend you do that if you ever go to El Meson (if you haven't already, good Spanish food). Drove right by it last Friday, StreetView would've been helpful :o .

Also - Rutgers???

On the one hand, since it is the State University of New Jersey, it sort of is the obvious follow-up to Penn State if you're expanding eastward. On the other hand, Jersey is a sh*t-hole.

BC?!

I wanted to bury my head in a Fooper snowbank after reading that.

At least blockski discounted BC for the most part.

:D

Wait, the Big 10 took Wisconsin. And Ohio State. *. ;)

That's it. Time to queue up the Ditty and let it roll...

Evening, Lodge. Had an excellent day at work, followed by grilled cheese and soup for dinner tonight. :)

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 93: Midseason Excellence

My awesome girlfriend took me to the Pats game yesterday (I'd never been to Gillette for anything; never even seen the stadium). Our seats were pretty awesome - just inside the goal line, lower tier, row 38. The row is key, as it was pretty close to the field, but also under the small overhang - it rained pretty much all game. For something like $50 more per ticket, we could have been a bunch of rows closer, but we'd have been soaked.

What is the difference between a lake and a pond? Is it the amount of water?

I just wrote out most of my Christmas cards. I need a couple more addresses. A good portion of the addresses in my DayTimer are so old and people I never contact anymore. I need to update that.

And DI is getting upsetting. I may take a break.

And just by walking to your seat you worked harder than Randy Moss.

Speaking of brain farts, UnhCat07 and Hokydad in the same thread. Again. Hide your spell check.

Even the Grammar Horse won't go there. The Grammar Horse just wants to watch that world burn.

Wrote my cards this year and made a spreadsheet for the addresses. I never kept them in one place before and this seems as good a time as any to start.

Awww...I'm sorry, I take it back. I'll think about my food, not you :p

CC to the Rube: anything the commie says is an overexaggeration. I said you were amusing. That was it.
EDIT: same goes for what PB says.

Why so serious?

It's amusing how wrong Hokydad is about everything: Tim Army, Merrimack, PC91, anything involving my life.

It depends. If you're just talking lake vs pond, the the common convention is to distinguish them by surface area. If you're talking about a kettle-hole lake vs a kettle-hole pond, there's a well defined distinction based on whether it's fed by surface/under ground rivers or streams (lake) or from a combination of precipitation/groundwater table (pond).

(Yes, I got bored and spent a lot of time on wiki trying to find bodies of water that were technically lakes in Boston. Many of the ponds are technically lakes by most surface area conventions, and Fresh Pond in Cambridge is listed on wiki as a bona fide kettle-hole lake. Oddly enough, the closest thing that's called a lake, Crystal Lake in Newton, is technically a pond and was formerly known as Baptist Pond, but had the name changed for marketing purposes by a 19th century ice company.)
