Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 93: Midseason Excellence

I thought the collective did the world a favor and removed him from the gene pool or at least your sister's life??
Apparently not. :o
*sigh* It's going to be an interesting Christmas.

I have shopping to do, and I need her help. I just didn't want her to think she was actually done. ;)

As for the trifle, it's for my company's xmas pot luck luncheon tomorrow.

Haha -- I know that I am done with shopping for what I need :p

Mmm...trifle.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 93: Midseason Excellence

I had to change careers because I blew out my subscap and they basically told me oh well (this was 25 yrs ago). Went back to school to be an NP ~no lifting~ and got another degree that pays less than if I was a floor nurse (Nurses that are on my old floor make 6 figures with my yrs of experience:eek: ) Cool they can fix yours. Can't do much without hurting when it is messed up!

I'm too old to change careers:p but I might not have a business left after 6 weeks in a sling. Thats what happens when you have a me, myself and I business. The pain is way down but doing firewood and such around the house would bring it back so I have to get it fixed.I haven't missed more than a few days of work(except vacations) since I've been in business 20 something years so I've probably beat the odds

Howdy Folks
Went to the Drs yesterday, saw the results of my MRI, pictures were very cool, what I saw in them wasn't. Definite tear in the front of the rotator cuff. Dr said I could live with it, that fixing it wasn't going to get easier or harder with time. Set up March 1st as operation day, generally a slow time for me. The worst part is 6 weeks in a sling, which means 6 weeks sleeping in a lazy boy:( , then 4 weeks of light duty and physical therapy.Expensive screw up on my part.

My dad did the same thing last spring. He's 53 and his age finally caught up to him while doing chores around the vacation home up north (specifically, half the house needed plumbing repairs after a major leak last winter - lots of lifting & twisting over the head, etc.).

Long story short, he had the operation, then six weeks in a sling, plus another six weeks of PT. This was only a couple of years after he had his hip replaced (which was a long time in the making, due to injuries earlier in life, plus his running program, plus his age), so as far as his joints go, he's a lot more cautious with the heavy lifting lately.

I just made 75 cucumber sandwiches. Half pumpernickel and half sourdough, all with garden veggie cream cheese for tomorrow's "grazing day". Trifle sounds better though :o

While most people use Godiva, I prefer E&J's Chocolate Temptation with vanilla vodka. The creaminess is yummy.

Works for me. I'll take two! :)

Just spoke with one of my neighbors in the hallway. I had missed the yearly condo association meeting and wanted to know if anything happened. Apparently there's going to be an assessment soon so they can replace the elevators. Great.

I'm sensing a lack of excitement...

IIRC, Shrader's "Beer" is the simplest (correct if I am wrong on the rules):

Drink a beer.

Hooray! You win!

What do you win?

Another beer! Time to play again!
At SCSU we played Drink Beer, Get Slapped. You see, you drink beers, and then usually get slapped because you used a really bad pickup line or were a complete * while hitting on her, and your friends would laugh. It's tougher to get slapped than one would expect.

Trifle is pretty good, and will be a big hit tomorrow (has been for the past 3 years, and people have been asking to make sure that I'm bringing it). I'm sure the shot of Kahlúa soaked into the chocolate cake doesn't hurt...

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 93: Midseason Excellence

Drove by this earlier this evening - amazing!
It's lit up every evening while I go by on the bus, and most mornings, too. It's so remarkable to see from Cedar. I've also stopped by the house to see the full tree, and not just the top two-thirds. IMO, it looks better from the highway, a bit of mystique to it.

We just drove by on Cedar, my daughter's sign language teacher (where she goes for class) is near the Cedar & 66th intersection. Drove south on Cedar to 13, looped around and went back north. My wife thought I was nuts (she is an astute judge of character) when I first went south on Cedar and had no idea this lit up tree was even there but she loved it once she saw the tree. :)

Huge points for the 'ole eagle. ;)

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 93: Midseason Excellence

soooooooooooooooooooo

I am moving to Chicago.

Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
Congrats, winger! :)

It's sad and scary. Apparently there are several mills in N. America that are closing the doors permanently. Like Ontanogon, many of these mills are in towns where that's the primary employer for it's citizens. :(
On a business related note, that mill made medium, which is the paper in the middle of corrugated carton board. Now the only medium mill in the vicinity is the Rock-Tenn plant in St. Paul. We can make it here, but it's not what we want to run due to the lower price. Unfortunately, we may be forced to run more of it to keep our box plants supplied.
Same situation here in Muskegon. Sappi Fine Paper moved out, even after the city gave them a huge tax break...

Margaritas! And a Chocolate Milk! for les.
Margarita? Sweet. Thank you!

I write checks for my races and entry into fantasy football. That's it. It ends up being like 7-8 checks a year.
I also write checks for my races, and that's only so I don't have to pay some ridiculous online registration fee.

Your sandwiches sound good...

evening, Lodge. Tomorrow, Christmas cards should be mailed off and all that's left to do is finish the shopping.
