I like the way you think. Afterall, if the board can help Ontonagon win money for their playground, we must have the power to keep me employed. Party at wT's for Frozen Four if people help me stay employed. (and no, not in whatever way gutter-minds are interpreting this)

Party duration and beverages to be determined.
I write 4 checks per year, does that help?
Good morning, Lodge!
Slacker.
Nope. Yager's just on Alaska time.
I think he's got a time of his own. Yager time, which just happens to fall on the same schedule as Tokyo.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 93: Midseason Excellence

I just came out of a weekly meeting where it was announced that the Ontanogon Mill is being shut down permanently

Yeah, that town is officially boned. That's the second major employer they've lost in the past year.

They're left with summer tourism, which I doubt will be enough, even with the Porcupine Mountains State Park down the road.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 93: Midseason Excellence

I just got a nice compliment from one of my internal clients. Normally, my client who is on maternity leave would be dealing with him, but as I am tkaing her place these months, I was giving him an update on projects and he said afterwards I was doing a great job and he told my temp manager (pregnant client's boss) that as well. I thanked him and wanted to tell him to tell my regular managers but hopefully the word gets passed upwards. I also wonder what it means in relation to how they feel about pregnant client. I can tell she is not well liked and I wonder if she has ever gotten any kind of feedback/compliments like that.

Yep. White Pine is set to close again - permanently - so I can't see much industry in that county beyond logging, tourism and some real estate for vacationers.

Two new Facebook groups I've noticed in the past couple of days:

Yoopers are F@*&ing crazy
Description:
This is a group for everyone that is a crazy yooper or know someone that that is a crazy yooper. From taking your car on some dirt trail it shouldn't be on to skiing in a T-shirt when it is -20 degree and not thinking twice about it.

I ♥ Snow Cows
Description:
*This group is for snow cows and their lovers (friends, family, or actual lovers).
*This group is made to embrace the snow cows at Michigan Tech. No haters please.
What is a snow cow? Well, since you asked its a term used to describe the females at MTU. Usually it is used in a negative manner but we feel there is nothing to be ashamed of.
Being a snow cow means number one, you are intelligent. Obviously, Michigan Tech isn't exactly a school for the slow kids. Snow cows are witty, clever women.
Snow cows are classy. We walk around with our heads held high and present ourselves well.
Snow cows understand what it means to be pretty. It's not about looks. It is simply being happy and nice that makes us so beautiful.
We put the cow in snow cow, holding true to our name.. We love to eat and we're darn good at it. There is nothing wrong with a good cheeseburger.

I write checks for my races and entry into fantasy football. That's it. It ends up being like 7-8 checks a year.

While most people use Godiva, I prefer E&J's Chocolate Temptation with vanilla vodka. The creaminess is yummy.

Smirnoff vanilla vodka is my key to a great chocolate martini. :)

Yum
I had to change careers because I blew out my subscap and they basically told me oh well (this was 25 yrs ago). Went back to school to be an NP ~no lifting~ and got another degree that pays less than if I was a floor nurse (Nurses that are on my old floor make 6 figures with my yrs of experience:eek: ) Cool they can fix yours. Can't do much without hurting when it is messed up!
Yep, its amazing at what they can fix nowadays.

I am moving to Chicago.

:p

I'd be less shocked, except that this is the DUI guy from earlier this fall.

I thought the collective did the world a favor and removed him from the gene pool or at least your sister's life??
