Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 92: Let's Keep SiouxTechie Out

Somebody at work put up this insane job posting... if I were secure in having my job when i got back I'd definitely look into it. I don't think you can take leaves of absence until you have a job here for awhile. Its a survey methodology position in Afghanistan at an AFB. I'm not even sure i'd be qualified but... man... I'm going to day dream the rest of the day.

Oooo, yeah! Who doesn't daydream about going to Afghanistan?

some place far away... would seem to be an experience of a life time... there's the whole getting shot at bit of course... doing a mundane job in some place few dare tread sounds interesting.

edit: the more i look at the term "survey methodology" i think its more meant for the planning an execution of survey types... the psychologists and sociologists. It was fun to imagine.

edit #2: of course I could have realized that when we have an entire branch devoted to just that label and its full of psychologists and sociologists.

It was fun to dream for a little while.

You will most likely be right above me then - if it's the opposing team's broadcast booth. My seats are in the last row of 114, right underneath it. Lean over and say hi!! If you have a break between periods, a few of us usually congregate on the concourse at the top of the stairs between sections 114 and 115. See you tonight!

Good to know, I'll be dressed up a little nicer than I usually am at games. I like to look good when I'm "working" so to speak. That said, I'm not overly optimistic of our chances tonight, we're missing three top players. :o

Mrs. Shot and I are off to the slopes later this morning for our first skiing of the year. We have a nice three-day weekend planned for Sat-Sun-Mon and will ski Breck and Vail depending on what we learn about slope conditions once we get to Summit County.

Have a relaxing weekend and I hope you get to see your favorite college team in action. See you next week. Go Denver, beat Duluth. :)

do you have a call in portion? Is this going to be a "whine line" type of thing? :p

I flew yesterday over the Rockies. Winter Park, Vail, Breckenridge, Keystone, Loveland, A-Basin, and all the Aspen slopes looked absolutely fantastic. I was sad that I wasn't skiing and that I was flying. Hope you have a great time. :)

Re your rep:....start at http://snow.com click Epic Pass and go from there. These passes deal with Vail Associates owned properties.

Before I can be of further assistance I'd need to know where you are going to ski. If you're skiing at Vail Associates owned properties that's one thing, if you are skiing elsewhere I'd suggest a differently issued pass. Know this: you'll need to make a choice===> you'll either be buying a pass for Vail Associates owned properties or another kind of pass as owning just one pass will not permit you to ski at both types of resorts. Once you determine where you'll do the vast majority of your skiing I can help you.

Areas such as:Loveland, WP/MJ, Copper Mountain, Aspen, Crested Butte, Telluride and Steamboat aren't covered by passes issued by Vail Associates. Unless you want to pay too-high prices for daily adult lift tickets at individual resorts you'll need to decide where you'll be doing the bulk of your skiing and then act accordingly in buying a season pass.

When considering what ski pass to purchase....Vail, Beaver Creek, Keystone and Breck are all owned by Vail Associates. While A-Basin is not owned by Vail Associates, passes issued by VA are recognized at A-Basin.

WP/MJ, Aspen and Loveland are not owned by VA.

Well, we suck, so you might have a better chance that you thought.

Gave notice at 11:30 this morning. Office Manager took it well. I tried to talk about the fact that I've gained a lot of experience in the office and that I'm not leaving with a bad feeling, but she laughed and said, "yeah, right. You're miserable. So am I!" :o So, it's done. I am officially committed to going back to school in January. :D
