Howdy kids

Apparently my MRI shows extensive soft tissue injury some of which will require surgery to repair. Wish I knew what that meant but until I see a shoulder Dr, I guess I won't. I do feel better, have more range of motion in the arm and no painkillers yesterday so thats a help. Going to try to go Maine game tomorrow and maybe work some next week if I can. Surgery won't be until beginning of January at earliest which is very frustrating

Glad you are doing better but not that it will be until Jan before fixxin' time.

There had been a lot of water welling up under the snow on the pond ice. Haven't had a chance to get out and see how bad the rink is yet. Hope the ridges aren't too bad. I expect to be doing a lot of scraping and flooding this weekend to get a good rink. Maybe I should give up and put in a rink in the back yard instead. In that case most of the work is in the fall getting it set up instead of the winter trying to fix the ice.

I tried to drink my weight in vodka at the holiday party last night. It was not a good idea.

Luckily, my (only) trusted coworker was sitting next to me and we left before things got messy. When I came in this morning, she said she'd never seen anyone so drunk leave a party so soberly and that the minute I got outside, I was trouble.

my pond was 100% open water until this week, now its covered with snow but I doubt the ice is more than an inch or 2. No frost in the ground as it was covered with snow before we had any real cold weather

Super busy weekend coming up for me. Hockey at Yost tonight. Hopefully hanging out with my friend from Cali after the game. Christmas caroling tomorrow morning/afternoon (we go around to nursing homes and play and sing carols). Then Sunday is drive to South Bend, watch hockey, drive back.

Looks like I'll be watching the BU-RPI game from the broadcast booth instead of from the stands. You'll be able to listen in on Ralph's favorite internet radio destination tomorrow night.

You will most likely be right above me then - if it's the opposing team's broadcast booth. My seats are in the last row of 114, right underneath it. Lean over and say hi!! If you have a break between periods, a few of us usually congregate on the concourse at the top of the stairs between sections 114 and 115. See you tonight!

We had a couple three good inches before the snow came. But 5+ inches is too heavy for that ice and it pushed water up from under the ice, making a big mess. I hope the area where I put my rink isn't too bad. The worst is usually the ridge where the water stops. Then there's crunchy, pebbled ice where the water froze the snow to the ice, but I can flood that out. I'll try blowing it off tonight after the peewee game and then plan to flood first thing in the morning.

I had a whole 5 hours between posts... plenty of time to sleep! The truth is I'll probably crash and burn this afternoon.

Of course, I'm off today so I was able to stay in bed for an extra hour or so before getting motivated. The problem is it's a couple of hours later and I still haven't found any motivation!

Between last nights lackluster performance by the Bobcats and a couple of things on the honey-do list, I'm really not looking forward to starting my day.

I'm thinking I definitely need more coffee for starters!
