Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 92: Let's Keep SiouxTechie Out

I'm taking another vacation day today and going to the Library of Congress. I'll probably post from there.
I'm jealous.

*so jealous*

Back at the office today, but it's the holiday dinner. At least my co-workers and their S.O.s will be there, so I'll have people to talk to. Then, it's Friday (and a very special one!) :D
Happy Notice Day, 'ewe!

Good morning, Lodge! Woke up, went for a 40+ minute run in the snow and wind. Wasn't so bad out.

Also, watched last night's Man vs. Food; you think I could beat the Fat Sandwich challenge?

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 92: Let's Keep SiouxTechie Out

Howdy kids. It's a nice, sunny day here in 617-ville. Nice change from the mess of yesterday.

I called my cousin in Florida last night to ask him what I can get for his son, who is my godson. He turned 16 in July and I never got him anything for his birthday so I want to get him something substantial for Xmas. They're pretty well off so he really doesn't want for anything. I offered to fly him up here for a weekend as he's never done that (and since I took my goddaughter to NYC for her 16th, I figured I should do something like that for him, too). My cousin tells me he was thinking of coming up here with him in Feb/March to start looking at colleges. He wants to take him to........::sobs::....BC. I told him I wouldn't talk to Alex ever again if he went there. :p My cousin's dad (who died 2 months before I was born) went to BC so my cousin wants his son to look at the place. *sigh*

He can look at it as you go driving along Commonwealth Ave toward BU. I'm sure there's a stop sign or stop light that will give him an extended viewing of campus.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 92: Let's Keep SiouxTechie Out

Having picked up the phone and made a well-placed call here and there [one of which may have been placed to an associate of mine by the name of Mr. Vinnie The Hacksaw:eek: ], and having filled the various ears on the other end of phone calls with some carefully worded, workplace-related invective, topped off with a believeable threat or two, I am now at liberty and happy to report that--VOILA--the Shots' three day weekend ski trip is back on the docket. :D

Moral of the story: listen to me punk===> don't mess with a LODGEONIAN when a ski trip has been planned. ;)

[now lemme see, where did I put those helicopter keys? oh, here they are. all set:D ]

Long story short. Mr. Shot had to get on his hands and knees and say "pretty please with sugar on top" to his parole officer in order to get permission to leave town for the weekend. :)

Happy Notice Day, 'ewe!
Thanks - I'm a little nervous, but I'm doing it first thing in the morning tomorrow, so it'll be out there and I won't have to think about it all day.l
(Would have done it today, but the holiday dinner is today)
It is a fine place to sleep while waiting an hour for books to be delivered. :)
:( You're not going exploring!?

Indeed - the waves came up over the wall and into the road yesterday, there was tons of sand in the road and on the sidewalk on my way home

Also, I'm sure you can show him how awesome BU is (and how beautiful Agganis is) and he'll quickly change his mind about going to the 5hitbox on the Hill (okay, I don't actually believe that it's a *box, but I had to say it :D ).
Yeah, good luck!

Roses are red,
Violets are blue.
Job is teh sucking,
So Goodbye to 'Ewe!

:D awesome.

*pbbbt* :p It's several stoplights, we'll have you know. Plus 5 Starbucks!

I am not sure what you mean. One isn't allowed to go into the stacks without special permission. I have seen the tourist parts of the LoC maany times. There some places one can go, but the usual thing is just to order books and wait until they are delivered. Staring up at the dome is fun -- for a minute or so. :)

The exhibits the LOC had in October were outstanding, really liked the one for the Washington Post editorial cartoonist (the Post IIRC, can't remember the gents name), great stuff.

No sign of the mice again. Of course, we didn't leave anything for them to chew on if they got in, so they could've been back, I suppose. I'm still not going to put everything away until the maintenance guy gets here to seal everything up under the sink.

We also have heat escaping through a gap in our front door, causing the screen door to fill with condensation and then freeze, thus freezing our screen door shut. That's mighty fun, too.

Denver is having something of a modified heatwave today as temperatures have sprung all the way out of single digits into double digits. Hey, it's a start. ;)

Hey Vacation Boy, Stick to topics more appropriate for your IQ. 1) Learning how to sanitize the sneeze guard at the salad bar in your employer's cafeteria. 2) Worrying about how many goals the Mankatos are gonna fire into the Bemidjis' net during the Mavericks' sweep. :D

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 92: Let's Keep SiouxTechie Out

See, dear, you could have done it today, and then gone and got blasmed at the dinner and told everyone to * off. What are they going to do, fire you? :D

I'm actually a tad fearful of this part happening.
