Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 91: It's Blizzard Season... isn't it?
Happy new week, Lodgers.
So at my 6-yr-old's hockey practice they told us parents, If you want to bring your skates, come on out and help. So this week I did. I hardly know what I"m doing, but it's still helpful to have somebody stand with the kids, keep them lined up, and konk them on the helmet when it's their turn to go. Frees up the coach so he can actually work with them during the drills.
It's pretty funny to work with such young and clueless kids. Yesterday one kid wouldn't go, and wouldn't go. So I said, C'mon buddy, what's the holdup? "Well, I think there might be a drop of sweat or water on my eyebrow." All you can do is say, "Oh, yeah, that happens sometimes. What you do is, you take off your glove, and you take your finger, and you stick it through your mask, and you itch it." The kid looked so happy to have a solution. I think he really thought he was stuck.
