Happy new week, Lodgers.
So at my 6-yr-old's hockey practice they told us parents, If you want to bring your skates, come on out and help. So this week I did. I hardly know what I"m doing, but it's still helpful to have somebody stand with the kids, keep them lined up, and konk them on the helmet when it's their turn to go. Frees up the coach so he can actually work with them during the drills.
It's pretty funny to work with such young and clueless kids. Yesterday one kid wouldn't go, and wouldn't go. So I said, C'mon buddy, what's the holdup? "Well, I think there might be a drop of sweat or water on my eyebrow." All you can do is say, "Oh, yeah, that happens sometimes. What you do is, you take off your glove, and you take your finger, and you stick it through your mask, and you itch it." The kid looked so happy to have a solution. I think he really thought he was stuck.
Dentist appointment this morning to have a chipped tooth fixed. Doctor appointment this afternoon to discuss cholesterol.
Don't say anything unless he broaches the subject first. Then you can only offer sympathy - if it's a job he wanted to keep.

Got to Chicago all right and got a few rubs in there.
Just checking in from the office. Decided 12/10 is "Notice Day," making a very nice Christmas gift for myself.
the reason I ask is we share the van in Rapid City with another airline that is doing massive furloughing (they are down to 800 pilots from 2200) and there is really no hope of them ever getting their job back. Most of them seem to be in very good spirits. I just don't know if I would be in good spirits if the situation was reversed.

Edit - 12/11, not 12/10, as 12/10 is the holiday party.

That is always a good signMorning Lodge.
Survived the trip to Maryland and back with the boyfriend. Didn't even want to hit him or kick him out of the car.
I see nothing wrong with that, but then again it has been proven that I am strange. Is it wrong that I haven't replied to the bf's relationship request on facebook, except to comment on his "in a relationship" status with "congrats, what's the lucky car?"
I think that is the answer to your question, if you have the time to stop at the bar.
