Well, 5 merges into 494, so I'm guessing that way...:p

Then that would be it.

You know me and driving. And if you're not sure, ask MEg about the time it took an hour to go get her a 20 oz Coca-Cola one night around her place. Yeah. That was a top five-er.:o

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 91: It's Blizzard Season... isn't it?

I hit 115 on 94 between Monticello and St, Clooud. Decided I was being an idiot and let off the gas.

I miss my dad's old Dodge truck, "The Green Death". It was late 60's to early 70's. Road sign green, with white lettering and a white topper. It blew leaves on your feet every time you turned the fan on, for it sat down in Arkansas through many, many autumns on a lot filled with oak trees. Of course, it would be accompanied by the smell of burning leaves if the heater was on.

My Uncle shoved a ping pong ball into the gas tank (which was right behind the bench seat) when he was young. It turned out to be great, because the gas gauge stopped working. We became experts at knowing the level of fuel left by counting the seconds between the *tinks*. When you could hear it rolling, you had roughly three miles to get gas into it.

Well, I've been driving the Jeep, but I'm also the proud owner of a 2008 Dodge Ram 2500 4X4 Cummins Turbo Diesel 6-speed manual.:p
My top speed ever while driving was 125, when I was 17 driving my dad's Ram 2500 with a 8.0 liter V10 and 5 speed stick (that bastard was fast!), fastest as a passenger was 175, in by best friend's '74 Stingray with a 454. Scariest was 150 in a '65 Mustang 289 (modded, of course)

edit: I've also hit about 105 on gravel :o

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 91: It's Blizzard Season... isn't it?

You've got "Cliff Drive" confused with "End of the World Highway" (last 12 miles to Copper Harbor).

I'm not that stupid. :p

No, I knew what you were talking about. M-38 to Ontonagon is smooth as glass, Cliff Road... isn't. :o

I'd still love to make my current Jeep into a rally truck and set up a LSPR team, so I could legally go that fast in the UP :o, but I need a fair bit more money for that to be a reality.

Already said my fasted driving. Fastest as a passenger?

110 on Winnetka Avenue in New Hope MN (limit was 35, '72 Roadrunner, 7am on the way to high school). I was scared sh*less, only because that was the first time I was in that sort of car, going that fast).

Close second was 105 in the Iron Range (somewhere; we were going to some podunk town). The girl driving grew up there, and decided that since it was a full moon out, she could shut the headlights off. Then we saw the RR lights going, and she had to slam on the brakes to stop in time, before crossing the tracks. Yeah, didn't do that again. And no, no booze involved at all.

Driving back from St Bonifacious (about 1/2 hour west of where I live), I was cranking the music, not paying attention.....and ended up at the airport (about 1/2 hour east of where I live). Totally absent-minded that night. :o And that hasn't been the only time I've done something like that.
At least one thing I can say in our defense -- we aren't Northwest pilots; we aren't on the clock. If we decide we want to get lost, the only time we are wasting is our own. Still, those must be some tunes you're cranking.:D

Rams are damm fast, but it's someone with the Cummins turning up the boost to something like 20 psi and pulling 11 second quarter miles  Not as common with the V10.

I want to beat 100 while in 4wd. Something tells me that'd be scarier than 100 in a Geo. :o

I just zone out when driving sometimes, because most of the places I go, I go there so often that it's automatic and I don't have to think about turns, etc.

Haha...right after I started working on overnights down here, I missed an exit and would up in Minneapolis by accident. :)

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 91: It's Blizzard Season... isn't it?

Cliff Road... isn't. :o

That's what the off-road suspension package is for. ;)

I didn't do it too often though. For one, the Jimster isn't exactly a lean, mean, fuel-efficient machine, even when being driven properly. In addition, even with the good suspension, it was still a fairly bumpy ride. :o

It was one of those nights where KQ/93X were playing everything that was a favorite and everything that you could try and sing along with. :o

Someday I'll tell you about the day I went to a pool hall 3 blocks away from where I lived and ended up at the MOA. About half hour away.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 91: It's Blizzard Season... isn't it?

As a passenger the fastest I have gone in a car is 185 in a Maserati GranTourismo S.

That. Was. Awesome.

I have over 20 psi, stock, and I have access to the engine development data, so I know this.:p
I could get my Cummins to do 11 second quarters, no doubt. But I like to have a semblance of a warranty.

We did 100 in 4 by with the V10. It was when we were trying to see how fast of a quarter we could get, and in 2 wheel she just sat and spun the tires. 0-60 in about 5.5 seconds in a 3/4 lb. truck wasn't too bad, in 4x4. the 1/4 mile was around 13-14

I was debating whether 20 was high or not, and decided to be a little safer than guessing 50. :o

If I really didn't care about my Jeep, I'd try for 0-60 in 4 Lo.
