Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 91: It's Blizzard Season... isn't it?

Good morning! Almost done with my grad school entrance essay. :)

I am back. :) That was probably the easiest dental procedure that I have ever had. (a chipped front tooth.)

Only a chipped tooth? What did the other guy look like? ;)

Off to dinner for The Shots at a favorite downtown Chinese bistro and then on to an eight o'clock performance of Spring Awakening. Enjoy your evening LODGEONIANS!;)

ooh, PF Changs. Classy. ;)

Seeing as how his family is pretty much demanding he come home for Christmas, he is planning on an appearance at the Joe.

before you do that, let's go watch Air Force next Saturday night.

Yeah I am suffering from short timers disease, its going to be tough to round out the end of the year here.

My neighborhood is ridicilous all the parents drive their kids to the end of the road, the road is all blocked up with their cars (even on nice days) actually making far more unsafe for the kids, moving vehicles and the bus to see anything. Days like today I could see giving the kid a break and giving him a ride, but in general I agree the kids need to man up.

Yeah I have a hard time following the lodge as well. :(
Mr is a little overboard. We had it out when it was lightning once. He wanted to be proud that L'il was never pampered- I was a bit more concerned that in a T-storm he be safe. Probably only the 3-4th time in the last 4 yrs that a car was at the bustop with L'il in it. Stupid when everyone sits in the car watching the kids.

I am a certified teacher currently subbing, if that's what you mean, yes.

Nice. I am currently taking my teacher education classes in school. Nice to know there are other teachers on the boards here. :)

I'm in the process of applying to Hamline to start the MA degree/initital license program, hope to start in February. Grades 5-12 social studies - and yes I know there's a glut there.... :)

You can get certified to teach 5-12? In MI, I believe it's still K-6 and 7-12 (and K-12 in areas such as art, music, etc), though I remember hearing something about that changing soon.

hockeybando is also getting her teaching degree. There are a few of us teacher types around here. (That is rather terrifying once you really think about it, though...)

Biiiig glut. :o That's one of the reasons I've never seriously considered being a primary/secondary school teacher. Hopefully you find something out there though - when it's taught properly, social studies is just about the most awesome subject out there :D

Morning, Lodge. There's a tiny dusting of snow outside - nothing much yet, but it's a taste of what's to come.

Not looking forward to the post school job hunt.

Yep, 5-12 is possible here. For me this is a 180 degree career change midlife crisis thingy. :o

I do. Maybe I should make a midlife crisis thingy career change.

My youth coaching experiences though, tell me I may not be the best at motivating youth. :o
