Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 88: What's in your stash?

Did you get a pizza? :)

No, one of my co-workers called to go down the sports bar to eat and watch the game. I just went down to eat, caught the first three innings, and headed back to the room. I may get one tonight at home because after I thought about getting one last night, I'm in the mood for it.

Question for the resident Greek: Is Retsina popular in Greece? I went to a friend's house last night for dinner and offered to bring wine, she requested Retsina (which is hard to find!). It has an interesting taste...

I saw it on the menu at alomost every restaurant we went to. I'm surprised you're having a hard time finding it. I always thought it was one of the more common/popular types of Greek wines.

Sidenote to GLM - Congrats to you on the Yankees winning last night!!! I know the 9-year drought was painful to live through, but at long last, you can celebrate. ;) :D Seriously though, enjoy! You too hp1015!

I only went to Blanchards, so I can't confess to have searched very far, but I figured that they do have a rather impressive wine selection... Anyway, it was tasty.

Sorry. I'm not a fan of snow. We don't exactly get along.

Forecast for Denver today is calling for the high temp to be seventy four degrees. Same thing for Friday. That twenty inches of snow we had last week? G-O-N-E. Playing golf with a buddy this Sunday. :D

Broadway>Davanni's
This is true.
And I would take my neighborhood pizza dump (Checkerboard) over both. :)
Broadway rules. Checkerboard is okay.

Any of you remember "Beek's Pizza"? Or even "Waldo's Pizza"? That was some good stuff too.
Red's Savoy, of course, trumps all. :)

Always found Red's slightly too greasy for me, and it's been years since I've had Broadway. Carbone's has gotten pretty dam good though. :)

Morning, Lodge. Tomorrow at this time I'll be three hours into a trip to St. Louis, and hopefully not listening to New Yorkers bleat about their team. :p ;)

You'll get used to it. :p Just wait until snow gets mentioned in the forecast the first time, and everyone panics.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 88: What's in your stash?

Mmm....now I want pizza.

I'm already looking forward to next Friday where hopefully my Uncle, cousin and I will continue our tradition of going to NYPD after Michigan State at Michigan hockey games.

Mmm...greasy pizza and garlic knots.

I didn't check to see what the weather in my hometown is, but a bunch of my Facebook friends still living in MD have status updates b*ing about the cold.

It's supposed to be in the 60's over this weekend, I think. It's hard to pay attention to the weather when the clock radio is going 12 seconds after you wake up.

That's the place at the Hwy52 and I94 intersection, next door to Big Wood, right?
I've heard good things about their pizza, but I've never tried it. The place looks like a dive.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 88: What's in your stash?

I'm writing up a techincal paper... every time I write the name Hochberg I end up writing "Hockey" and then correcting myself. Its like its a muscle memory reflex. :)

That's the place. And it is, but dives are where you get the best pies. :)

GE: You have a point, but I'm not going to drive all the way to St. Paul to get greasy pizza, when I could get it in the north metro. :p

Denver sounds like the only place where the weather is screwier than in Michigan.

Great weather for a race! (My mom is taking a few of her runners down for the Michigan Cross Country State Finals at MIS)
It's actually supposed to be decent up here this weekend, too! :)
