Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 87: As All Hallow's Eve Approches.....

gopher fans,

Where is the best place to get tix for the BSU series?

I can more than likely get them through the BSU ticket office but I want to look at all my options.
On the street outside of Mariucci, after the Gophers are still winless.:(

If you're willing to chance it - on the streets. If you want a guaranteed seat, then through a ticket broker or over at GPL.

Thanks.

GPL?

Either the place will be packed due to gopher fans showing up to watch a top ten BSU team or the place will be empty due to the bandwagon t boning a brick wall. :D

Also, I am p issed that BSU scheduled the gophers. It is going to hurt our rankings by scheduling such weak teams.......:p

At least the only fool Mich is dealing with in our fanbase (for now) is umichhockeyrulz! and he's easy enough to ignore (or provoke)
I'm glad I saw this post before I changed my username to West Texas Wolverinehockeyrulz!.

I've been offline for a while, so wT: In response to post 223 (last thread), my associate was indeed referring to you as the cute Michigan girl, but unfortunately I've since found out that he is a serial killer.

And when I take the tribe on our Great Northern Vacation - to include Yost Arena - I will give you ample warning!

Also, bostonewe, while I do not approve of your team's recent performance, I do approve of post 694 (last thread). Quite cool.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 87: As All Hallow's Eve Approches.....

fine, in that case, I propose a debate between GLM and Brent about the trap and why it is good for hockey or why it sucks for hockey. Whoever wins the argument gets to run the other over with a cement truck.

Brent and I do this discussion every year though and no one wins because, like the trap, it's BORING.

I'll just run Brent over anyways and get it out of the way.

Eagle: I save the farting in dinner for special folks like RStarr.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 87: As All Hallow's Eve Approches.....

A question about this poll. Can anyone explain who "The Yooper" is? Is it supposed to refer to bigmrg74?
Not a Yooper. For the Yooper, I was thinking of something more along the lines of what you would see in Escanaba in the Moonlight.

Morning Lodge.

Boy did not win his race over the weekend. He won a few heats, but just missed the total points (tells me it came down to the last turn on the last lap). :(

He drove home last night...all night/morning. Crazy man. And crazy enough to go road-tripping with me this weekend.

I want to add some more arenas to my total. We're thinking of going to RIT (that's where boy went to school). But now I'm trying to figure out if there are other games we could go to as well. Canisus on Sunday would be cool, and then get home at around midnight, not too bad.

The question is Friday. I really, really want to go to Cornell, but I don't think boy can get the time off work. However, I'm pretty sure if we leave work 1-2 hours early we could get to the game at Robert Morris on Friday.

That'd be 3 rinks in one weekend. I really want to do this...but I'm not sure if we'll be able to.
Bit of a rough drive, but doable. Woudn't leave you a lot of time for otherthings on the roadtrip, but you should be able to get all of the games in.

well, since gmann challenged me, I suppose I have to accept his challenge. In which case, his challenge is accepted. :)

I choose pistols at high noon. I still have Dirty as my second. BUT, before we have said duel, I want a forklift match between Brent and GLM. Think of Battlebots, but with forklifts. :)
I would pay good money to see this!!
Brent is, by far, the more skilled forklift jockey seeing as how... I've never jockeyed a forklift. That's not quite so fair.
Fine then, we'll let you have the bigger forklift to work with, while Brent will have to use a smaller forklift to defeat you.

Excuse my laughing but bwk just suggested that NMU move their program up to D1. Apparently he believes that the athletic department will not have to spend more money, but still have a higher budget if NMU goes D1!

proposterous statement of the year nominee!
Yeah.... 10 million a year just to have a pulse in D1 for the rest of the sports, not to mention the problem of finding a good stable league to get into.

He also apparently has no idea what Title IX is. Cut a sport... right. And he even offhandedly suggested cutting the football program! WHAT IS THIS NONSENSE. O.o
Dang, just when I thought his lunacy was just starting to enterain the masses over at D2F. I thought for sure he would have taken the bait I put up there in the GLIAC forum there.

...MAJOR EARLY AUTUMN SNOWSTORM SETTING UP FOR TUESDAY NIGHT
THROUGH THURSDAY...

A STRONG UPPER LEVEL STORM SYSTEM CURRENTLY MOVING ONSHORE IN THE
PACIFIC NORTHWEST WILL MOVE SOUTH AND EAST TODAY AND TONIGHT. THE
STORM SYSTEM WILL FIRST BRING A COLD FRONT AND PRECIPITATION TO
THE WESTERN PORTION OF THE AREA EARLY TUESDAY. PRECIPITATION
CHANCES WILL QUICKLY INCREASE EASTWARD ACROSS THE AREA WITH
TEMPERATURES FALLING DURING THE AFTERNOON. THE UPPER LEVEL LOW
PRESSURE SYSTEM IS EXPECTED TO INTENSIFY AND SLOWLY MOVE EAST
ACROSS SOUTHERN COLORADO THROUGH THURSDAY. THIS WILL PLACE
SOUTHEAST WYOMING AND THE NEBRASKA PANHANDLE IN A VERY FAVORABLE
AREA FOR HEAVY SNOWFALL ACCUMULATIONS DURING THIS PERIOD. UPSLOPE
WINDS ARE ALSO EXPECTED TO ENHANCE SNOWFALL ACCUMULATIONS FOR
GENERALLY EAST-FACING FOOTHILLS...INCLUDING AREAS IN THE VICINITY
OF CHEYENNE. THE STRONG WINDS WILL ALSO CREATE POTENTIALLY
DANGEROUS BLOWING AND DRIFTING SNOW CONDITIONS.

EARLY INDICATIONS FOR THIS STORM SHOW WIDESPREAD SNOWFALL
ACCUMULATIONS OF 10 TO 20 INCHES POSSIBLE...WITH LOCALIZED
ACCUMULATIONS UP TO AROUND TWO FEET POSSIBLE ON EAST FACING SLOPES
WHERE THE GREATEST UPSLOPE ENHANCEMENT IS EXPECTED.

AT THIS TIME IT APPEARS THAT SNOWFALL WILL BEGIN TO DIMINISH
ACROSS THE WEST THURSDAY...WITH ACCUMULATING SNOW EXPECTED TO
CONTINUE ACROSS THE NEBRASKA PANHANDLE THROUGH THURSDAY.

PLEASE CONTINUE TO MONITOR WEATHER.GOV ON THE INTERNET...NOAA
ALL-HAZARDS WEATHER RADIO OR YOUR LOCAL MEDIA FOR THE LATEST
FORECAST UPDATES ON THIS DEVELOPING MAJOR EARLY AUTUMN SNOWSTORM.

EFF WYOMING.

For comparison, Houghton is sitting at a modest 3 inches on the season. Seriously. This state's weather is about as stable as Tyler Hirsch.

I love snow. Oldsmobile Aleros don't.

In unrelated news, there's a good chance I may have the opportunity of a lifetime soon: we have a second site opening in Anchorage, Alaska. I e-mailed the chief engineer there, and he said he had the position open for over a year and I was the first person to show interest. He even would like me to come there as early as January if I could. :D :D :D

You seem confused on what "opportunity of a lifetime" means.

Let me just say, anything involving moving to Alaska for an extended period of time does not equal "opportunity of a lifetime".

For example look at the guy who went to live with the bears in Alaska. Pretty sure he got eaten.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 87: As All Hallow's Eve Approches.....

So every time I see or hear the word "Wichita", I then hear the opening bass line from the White Stripes "Seven Nation Army".

Not a bad thing, just one of those instant ear worms.

i am a linesman for the couuuuunteeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!

What you either are ignoring or fail to comprehend is that the snow there will likely melt within a week while in Houghton, you're stuck with that white crap until sometime in June.

That was the opportunity for part of his lifetime - the end of it.

What you are either ignoring or failing to comprehend is that the plow crews in Houghton are on the frigging ball, and would probably have the roads at least driveable within 6 hours of the first flake, while the ones in Cheyenne are as much of a hoax as Falcon Heene. :p

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 87: As All Hallow's Eve Approches.....

Listening to my former roommate's fiance talk wedding plans with her parents makes me very glad that nmu_27 and I planned our wedding as we wanted it :)

The lulz that I can't lol are killing me.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 87: As All Hallow's Eve Approches.....

an 18 month project is being asked to be done in 6 months because they can't reassign 6 people to a project that'd take a week***. Yes, we're assigning at least a dozen people a multi-month task to fix something I could do over a dedicated weekend.

This is basically "we could do A, but we're going to B instead"... *sigh*

***I don't really know that... I've been told that they have to change tables and headings... boo hoo

I got pulled off an 18-month project back in June that would have created what amounts roughly one-third of a processing platform. Two weeks ago three of us were assigned to a six-month project that should take about 24-months, and it's a complete processing platform just as complicated.

There seems to be a lot of that going around.

my boss more or less deadpanned the basics... but you can tell what he's thinking... my reaction was more or less 'they're nuts'. Thankfully I wasn't in that meeting though now i'm part of that group.

There's a software update? I should upgrade I guess, I just don't like having to download all of my apps again, like I had to last time.
