Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 84: Steal This.

Just a little informal, in-house survey. Who is going to see a college hockey game this weekend?

I'll be going to the Denver-Calgary exhibition in Magness Arena on sunday night. Denver begins its sixtieth season of play next week by hosting Vermont.

I hope everyone enjoys their weekend. And for baseball fans here in Colorado, once again, it's ROCKTOBER!!!:)

:( I'm missing our exhibition v. Ryerson because I'll be at the football game.

Morning Lodge :)
I'm officially a pledge of a sorority now.
So you're hoping to be a sorostitute? It's good to have goals.

Me! Michigan takes on the jail-bait (U-18 team) tomorrow night and Windsor Sunday.

Then next weekend against the Alaskas. Can't wait!

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 84: Steal This.

I jumped on the rockwagon in 07 for the NL, always nice to see a team not known for success get to play some Octoberball. Good luck unless we meet in the Series;)

Not known for its success? Whaddya mean? From their inception through the 2006 season the Rockies put the "o-s-i-n-g" in losing.;)

At one point this season under Clint Hurdle the Rockies were 18-28. Through and including yesterday's playoff-berth clinching game under Jim Tracy the Rockies have gone 71-36. The Rockies may not make it to the World Series as was the case in the first incarnation of ROCKTOBERbut the Rockies are going to the playoffs for the second time in three years and may have demonstrated that the 2008 season--rather than the 2007 season--was the aberration.

With five starting pitchers each of whom has won at least ten games [De La Rosa, Jimenez, Cook, Marquis and Hammel] and solid position players like: Helton, Tulowitzki, Gonzalez and Fowler, as well as a bullpen anchored by Huston Street, the Rockies may be reaching/have reached a point in their development when they are legitimate playoff contenders on an annual basis.

Whatever success, or lack thereof, the Rockies have the remainder of this month, since the promotion of Jim Tracy to manager and the team's heroic about-face, the baseball season has been great fun here in Colorado. I'm looking forward to the playoffs.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 84: Steal This.

I take back my earlier post about not feeling the need to ping KIA in the Biggest Hits thread, given what he posted today. I may be back to ask for a refill if he doesn't like my response.

Not me. I will be watching........... the Twins clinch the central and the Gophers destroy wisconsin. Followed up on Monday with Minnesota systematically dismantling green bay. Somewhere in between I will watch the Wild as they begin their quest for another run to tCup.

The weather is going to be cold and rainy this weekend so it will be perfect for watching TV. I have a wicked batch of my world famous chili simmering at home as I type. It's going to be a perfect weekend except for the mrs. and the boys are going to be home. :p

What? No going over to mil/bil/and fil's house to watch all your teams lose while having a nice dinner of cold gruel on a stick? Be a perfect accompaniment to the cold, rainy weather you'll be having. Give 'em a call and see what they're up to. :D

Aren't your sister and all her friends DZs
No, my sister isn't in a sorority. A couple of her friends are DZs but not her and her roommate.
