Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 83: Hot Toddies and Cool Weather

I agree, unfortunately I have absolutely no interest in guys, they are yucky. I would much rather put up with beautiful crazy women, then stupid yucky guys.

I can understand that. But, I can find good uses for guys. And not all of them are terribly yucky.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 83: Hot Toddies and Cool Weather

@Brent re: rep: I would never do that with the owner of that tv. Pretty sure you met him in Denver and he is trouble with a capital "T". :p Besides, I've never watched any anyway.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 83: Hot Toddies and Cool Weather

I still say chicks are crazy and that's why I'm straight. Everyone knows women are hotter. But I've found men to be far more tolerable. :D

I don't know... I've met some guys that could put women to shame with their amount of crazy and over-emotional tendencies. Then again, I guess there are always exceptions to every rule.

In other news... my high school best friend is moving to Marquette at the end of the month, and I'm so excited!! :D

Morning, kids! I am officially in love with the 101" HD tv. The clarity is ridiculous (and made the officiating the Pats game that much more heinous). My only complaint is that it was so clear that I could see Vince Wilfork's posterior region jiggle when he was jogging. A sight I could do without.

110" tv.

I have this awesomely huge wall in my living room which makes my 37" tv look small. Maybe I should get 110" tv. One of my friends thinks I should get a projector and just project the image onto my wall. I wonder what picture quality would be like with that.

It's a projector set on the wall...

Which changes what about my point?

I also hear that the Garden Peninsula in the southern UP is quite the supply base, and I'd be surprised if students didn't pay for gas by bringing up some leaf. Not my thing, but I know people who know people.

True, there are some straight dudes that out-crazy some women, but there's a few women that just...

;)

Morning, Lodge. I kinda fail at getting to my volunteer work on time. :o There's enough to do around the house, at least.

Good Morning Lodge.

Indiana is still pretty boring, but at least I only have to deal with it for about 4 days this time. I huge chinook helicopter landed right outside the window of the facility I'm working at (we rent an old hanger to test big engines in), which was pretty cool, and a little loud. I'm already looking forward to the HUGE ribeye steak smothered in mushrooms and onions that the company will be buying me for dinner tonight.:D

Which changes what about my point?
Houghton just isn't that close to Canada, unless you have a cigarette boat.

Knew a guy at MTU who had a custom media PC/projector setup in his living room. Needless to say, the last two SCF series were at his place. Additionally, NHL '09 never looked so good.

Only thing is, he said the bulbs were about $200 each, though he also mentioned that they are good for at least 2,000 hours of use. Depending on how often you watch TV/game on it, you might get away with replacing it only once or twice a year.

I got it. The awesome tv you watched was a projection tv. (at least, that's what I think you're talking about)

Unlike what my friends think I should get: a projector and then project the image onto my big empty wall. I wonder what the image would look like if it were projected onto the wall. Though I guess movie theaters have decent pictures. hmmmm.

Ok, so projector and stadium seating need to be added to my list of stuff to budget for.

Nope - it was exactly like the bolded part. It was clear as day (see comment about jiggling below, though to follow that up, the ESPN commercial with Minnesota AP running was a sight since you could see all the muscles in his chest move).

OK. So that is what I need. Awesome.

Now to find the money.

That sort of viewing setup does take a bit more prep than people anticipate. My brother was looking into doing that in his basement. He did some reading, and it turns out that you have to do a considerable amount of preparation of the wall. In order to get the truly best viewing surface, you need to smooth out the wall to be as flat as possible. Then you need to use this off-white paint that has a silver tint to it - similar to a screen at a movie theater.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 83: Hot Toddies and Cool Weather

Hopefully you don't have 45 minutes of people asking questions at the end. I hate that.

our ground school instructors told us we were out at 4. No matter what. You have questions, read the book.

that's cause society wants boys to be all cute and emotional and have feelings. This is why I say we go back to Roman times. :)

And then if you ever have tDarkness over to watch Michigan football, he can dry-hump a life sized image of Tate Forcier!

may God have mercy on that wall

Neither is Mass, or many other parts of the US that have no problem getting delicious British Columbian sweetleaf.

Christ, half the dirtweed in the US is from Mexico and that has no problem spreading throughout the US.

It'd probably be cheaper to just get an old screen from a school or someplace, by that point - at least it can roll down and hide the hole in the wall tD will have made. :D

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 83: Hot Toddies and Cool Weather

I'm sorry I'm just trying to work out this new Man Crush I have on a 19 year old.

I can only imagine how dreamy Tate Forcier would have been.

I know but for some reason Saturday night I just got this strange urge to get the number 5 tattooed on my lower back.

I agree, unfortunately I have absolutely no interest in guys, they are yucky. I would much rather put up with beautiful crazy women, then stupid yucky guys.
Hmmm... I don't even know you but I'm a bit concerned... or, do you know some dark secret about Forcier that isn't public knowledge? ;)

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 83: Hot Toddies and Cool Weather

Wait until she registers here & starts reading your posts!

Kill me now. :(

wT, you should design a mechanism to lower the projector from the ceiling so you can show off your engineering skills. I've heard that even the smoothing and painting of the wall may not be enough. The good screens are very special surfaces so buying a specific one for projection TVs may be in order if you go that route. (If Swanted can get off the topic of his favorite weed, maybe he can advise on this topic.:p )

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 83: Hot Toddies and Cool Weather

Back from biking. It is a beautiful day in 202land, 703land, and I think 301land. I am not sure about the latter since the part I was in (the C&O Canal Tow Path from the DC-MD boundary to White's Ferry) is almost completely tree covered.
