Now the SLP Target would take you at least three hours to get BINGO! :p
Considering most people we get in belong to one of the neighboring country clubs or are Jewish...that would take much longer. There's not a whole lot on there that I've seen...:p ;)

Evening, Lodge. 1,000 people at work today... weren't they all supposed to be at the State Fair? I'm not complaining too much, but, dayum. (normal weekend attendance: 300-400 people)

So if I take the family to the Fort, how do I recognize you? I don't want to ask all the characters if they're Beer Pong Horn, or if they went to Tech.

Stupid collars! Stupid slacks! Stupid dress shoes!

"Poorly insulted" is what you meant to say.

well yeah...it's Brent. Does he do anything right? :)

So...since we're talking about lodge Mafia and the hierarchy, who is below Ralph then, since we know he's the Godfather? Are GLM and I the legbreakers? Is BPH the bootlegger? Is the Commie the guy that's in the family that we all want to shoot but we can't cause he's family?

Gonzo. Yes. Yes. Yes. :D

Morning Lodge.

This morning I finally finished the book I started about a month ago. Now I'm just lounging around, not much to do on this day off...

Morning Lodge
Recently back from 320land. 13 geese, more huge sunnies than we could eat at camp, no mourning doves, lots of law enforcement interaction.

The sheriff and his deputies were very diligent about maintaining order in the campground. We're old farts, so we camped way away from the lake, ergo the masses of Labor Day partiers. The cops always stopped by our camp, hoping we would complain about other campers. We told them that once in a while some groups would get loud and light off some fireworks, but nothing out of line or long lasting. They seemed disappointed.
First morning of hunting (Saturday), Game Warden Dan stopped by the wheat field we were hunting to go through the usual. He's a good guy, but newer and very thorough compared to the old retired guy. He drives out to our blinds, and we start unloading our shotguns. I had a jam on the third shell, and was monkeying around, trying to get that last shell out while bent over my blind, which was dug down into the field. He says "Jam? Or are you trying to put a plug in your gun?" I said I never take the plug OUT of this gun, since it's only used for waterfowl. He jumped down into my blind, grabbed my box of shells, and starts holding a magnet up to each one, insuring they're all steel shot. Then he checks the plug in my gun, and reviews my license, tilting it the sun to make sure I signed all of my stamps. He did the same to my two hunting buddies, then relaxes and starts chatting about all the hunting going on, or lack of it, in our case. of the 10-12 groups he'd checked, he said we were doing the best (five birds at the time) he'd seen, and then said "If you guys could shoot straight, you'd have your limits by now". Apparently he'd been watching us for some time from afar, and saw how we hosed up the first few flocks that came in. Luckily, I was the guy on the left, and had taken three of the five. :D
All in all a great weekend. I have some goose jerky to make :)

And congratulations, Nathan!

Gonzo is Luca. And MNS has to be Fredo.

From Wiki - In The Godfather, Luca Brasi is one of Don Vito Corleone's personal enforcers. Brasi is portrayed as slow-witted and brutish, but his ruthlessness and his unwavering loyalty to Don Corleone means he is both feared and respected. Fluent in Italian and able to handle himself in any fight, he has a dark reputation among the underworld as a savage killer. Vito Corleone describes Luca Brasi (and later Al Neri) as a "man who goes around life with a sign that says 'kill me' painted on, this makes everyone want to kill him, but yet no one can. Eventually this man finds someone who doesn't want to kill him and fears that this man is the only one who can kill him".

You're lucky that bolded word is there

;)

In a weird case of fiction becomes reality - less than 15 minutes ago I killed one of my roosters. He was persistent in jumping on my stuff as I was unpacking from hunting. After chasing him away several times, I kicked toward him, and he tried giving me the spurs. I got hold of a wing in mid air, and grabbed his neck, tucking him under my arm so he couldn't move. I rung his neck, which the rest of the flock found a bit disturbing while watching from under the pine trees.
Chicken. It's what's for dinner.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 82: Games in a Season for the big boys

I am glad, too. I don't need a dead fish showing up in my mail tomorrow. :p

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 82: Games in a Season for the big boys

The only dead fish I have are some sunny fillets, and you can't have them :p

Fine with me. In general, if the animal swims/lives in water as its primary habitat, I don't eat it. :)

Luca Brasi? Doesn't he coach Miami? ;)
