I don't know why you're not happy with dentists, but thanks for the reminder, I've been intending to schedule a routine cleaning for about a month now, but haven't gotten around to it. I just called and got an appointment for next week.Dentists.

I think I'm being let go!!!
Til it rains red from the skies. Can we negrep 'ewe's boss?
Thanks to everyone for the vote of confidence. I feel pretty crummy. Spoke to a close coworker at length after work, but not feeling much better. Applied for a few jobs tonight (local hospital and university), but not feeling confident.
*shrug*
From your description this sounds like a job that you could not succeed at even if you walked on water. You can't fail at doing the impossible. Your boss sounds as if she likes to change the rules, have expectations that are unrealistic, uses her resources poorly and then it is someone else's fault when it doesn't work. Better out of something like that. Usually better when you are the instigator tho
Maybe your boss is doing you a favor, and in return, a nice parting gift is in order. You don't want to burn any bridges, obviously. So I would suggest a nice card, thanking him for the opportunity to work for him, and a big bowl of lutefisk.
But best not to let your boss know about the lutefisk right away... leave it in his/her desk to ripen for a few weeks while they're away. Gotta make sure they appreciate it properly
You think Lutafisk can get more nasty?
Heading to the North Shore for a few days, camp for two days and a wedding at the Grand Superior Lodge in Two Harbors Friday night.

Played in Gibber's weekly poker game tonight - $5 buy-ins, re-buys dependent on how the game is going, with the option to buy more chips at the break. 7 players, 5 re-bought at least once. I won the game without re-buying, and without extending my chips. Even bluffed an all-in. Patience pays.
There are actually some good players in this game, but they just fall prey to bad luck (and, for some reason, players like me who go all-in with nothing (A-3, off suit) thinking that it's about time to go home, then get two aces on the board - I think I beat pocket queens on that hand ).That's because you are not gay. Re-buys and more buy-ins at the break encourage donk-ism.

I think the highlight of my night was when the game was down to three players. I was short-stack, but not doing terrible. Deal was K-J off-suit. Dealer folds, I call the big blind from the small, big blind raises, I think about it for a minute, then call. Flop comes up 4-5-6. I quickly go all-in. Opponent balks and folds.
Ah, fun night. Bedtime now.
(Sorry to everyone else for the poker talk.)
