Personally, I think it depends. Is this this information something that directly impacts everyone in a negative way? If so, then it should be out in the open. If it only impacts you, or you and your wife, perhaps it might be best to confront her either alone or with the wife present.

I should have clarified. It impacts everyone.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 78: The Rep Lodge Yacht club.

Well, for maximum Lodge entertainment value confront her with everyone there, then report the results. ;)

For ongoing familial harmony, pull her aside and speak one-on-one, with the option to report back to everyone if she doesn't take the info to the family. I'm never a fan of embarrassing someone in front of others if I can avoid it.

ETA: In other news, I learned that my wife dropped my kid (12) off at a rink/training center on his own today to skate and work out. He's not been real adventurous on his own before so this is a bit of breakthrough. He'd go with a buddy before this, but not by himself. Shows how much he wants to work on his game for this season (and he wanted to try out his new skates :D ).

Another thing to clarify. This "topic" has been circulating for about 6 months with everyone except for me. I do not like drama so I have stayed out of it. However, about three weeks ago my wife was thrown in front of the bus and due to that I have taken a vested interest in the matter. I now have information which more or less has caught certain family members with their hand in the cookie jar. I don't like drama but I respect and love my wife enough to bring this deal to a close g style. :cool:

Ah, well turnabout is fair play. Bust it open then.

Bong hits and crown?

Nope. I don't mess around. If I have an issue with something and I am 100% sure that I am right and the pros outweigh the cons then I have no problems dealing with it head on. :)

Oh, so the OTHER "g style". ;)

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 78: The Rep Lodge Yacht club.

gmann,

Does it have anything to do with your trip to Las Vegas in April?

If we were playing the hot/cold game you would be colder than the coldest day ever recorded. :D

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 78: The Rep Lodge Yacht club.

For those of you who have been keeping score at home and have followed my posts you know that on occasion I take issue with my mother in law. In all honesty I treat her with respect and no matter how much I would like to give her a piece of my mind I always take the high road.

I just came across some information that cannot pass without addressing her. It will mean throwing her in front of the proverbial bus. Mrs. g just informed me that her brother and her parentrs are coming over tonight.

So, do I confront her with everyone present or do I have a one on one with her????????????

I think you can confront without making a stink. Something like "It has come to my attention that X has happened. I am not sure why this would happen . I need to say that I don't accept what I have seen so far. Rather than wonder why it is this way I thought about it and decided that I should just ask what is going on" THey won't be comfortable but obviously you aren't so why should they be?

End it with an open ended question about why they thought this was OK and let it hang out there for someone to respond to. Dysfunctional families stay that way because everyone says stuff seperately. Then everyone can put their own spin on stuff and you have a bunch of "can you believe so and so said X!" The way to stop the cycle is to state what you see using the facts you know without coloring them with your emotion. Wait to see what they say. Screwed up families will think what is happening is normal but when you say it isn't and wait it usually gives them pause. If you try and figure out why they did it you get sucked into the morass and then it never ends. Even if they act like it is normal, re-state that you don't and it is not OK with you. Then drop it. If you discuss too much and you don't have someone mediating it gets unproductive.

Good luck!

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 78: The Rep Lodge Yacht club.

It's a one-eight-seven on a mutha *in' in-law, yo. Pack yo' nine and get ready ta creep. Chuuch.

You lost me after "it's"............

187 = murder/violence
mutha *in' in-law = someone related to your wife
nine = a gun
creep = hunt/kill

Brent is inviting you to use his gun to hunt and kill your mother-in-law. If you use his gun, the cops might think he did it :p

Where's the fun in that? :p

187 = cop code for murder
mutha *in' in-law = someone related to your wife
nine = a gun
creep = hunt/kill

We have a winner, with a minor detail correction on 187. Except I distinctly said "yo' nine" and not "my nine." :p

Thanks for the translation, "I don't speak jive." Only he wrote "yo nine" wouldn't that make it gmann's gun? :confused:

Yep.

If that is too strong a reaction, just show her how your pimp hand is strong. :D

Hey G

I think you need a few shots of Crown before said confrontation:D

Thanks. That is exactly why I am doing this. I am calling a spade a spade in front of everyone. No more "he said/she said" crap. I will state my case and in doing so I will wash my hands of this matter and put this to rest. I have been preparing for this exact moment for three weeks now. I am ready. It is going to be difficult but worth it.
