Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 78: The Rep Lodge Yacht club.

Bad guys are almost always more awesome:

Destro vs. GI Joe
Macho Man vs Hogan (although that flipflopped alot)
Jet Li in Lethal Weapon 4
even the guy in the rated R movie compared to the similar guy in the PG movie

:D

Optimus Prime is always better than Megatron

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 78: The Rep Lodge Yacht club.

It's not that odd. I have a 24 year-old cousin who lives in a commune (or, as they call it these days, "intentional living"). There's still plenty of immature crazies out there.

I had a conversation with distant relatives of my mother's back in September (my grandmother's sister turned 90)... came back fairly sure that one of their kids was shacking up with a domestic terrorist of the ALF/ELF stripe.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 78: The Rep Lodge Yacht club.

Good Morning, Lodge! :)

Looks like a lot was going on here over night for the off-season.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 78: The Rep Lodge Yacht club.

I wish online reviews were better.... most of them regardless of product tend to end "and it/you did/will died/die a horrible death". I'm not saying that's what's happened in your case but I know that I tend to get jittery by negative reviews.
My bro had a nephew who had bad experience , went on line and found a number of reviews recounting the same thing. Went to BestBuy- the guy I deal with confirmed and then said of the 10 'puters waiting for service- 5 were Dells. That did it for me.

Wow- I thought they were still communes.
Ah, meat raffles, the cornerstone of many a VFW or Legion Hall. :D

And "meat market" is also slang for a Top 40 Club, complete with Coatless Hoochies.* I thought I'd clarify for the people who don't know that. :p

*Coatless Hoochies: It's 10 degrees, and you see a girl who thinks/knows she's hot, and is waiting in line to get in, wearing only a mini-skirt and a belly-shirt.
Meat raffle???? VFWs here have Bingo.

I know what drives you goobers nuts:

SIMPLE MATH!

4 > 3

Math cannot be defeated.

If you think the Grammar Horse is a jerk, imagine what the Math Horse would do to people.
NO MATH

Good Morning RFAlph. Yeah Math was going on:mad:

GOOD MORNING EVERYUONE!! wobbly wednesday is here

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 78: The Rep Lodge Yacht club.

Morning lodge, just got into St. Clair, should be here for 8 hours or so, unless something unforeseen happens, then it's 8 hours down to Monroe to unload there tonight. It's pleasant weather now, but rain is threatening throughout the day.

Seconded Les, VFW's around me do bingo as well, must be that eastern bias?;)

What are you guys hauling anyway?

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 78: The Rep Lodge Yacht club.

This load is just short of 66,000 tons of coal for the Detroit Edison powerplants. Almost 36k for St. Clair, 30 for Monroe.

Where'd you go to school for that? Plan on leaving that big puddle for the ocean someday?:D

I'm halfway through SUNY Maritime, down just outside of NYC. Theres also

Mass Maritime- Buzzard's Bay, MA
Maine Maritime- Castine, ME
Kings Point (US Merchant Marine Academy)- Long Island, right across the river from us, and our archrival.
Great Lakes Maritime- Traverse City, MI
TX A&M- Galveston
California Maritime- Vallejo, CA

USCG an Annapolis are to a much lesser extent schools for training, but most of the grads there go on to be military officers as opposed to working in the commercial industry.

We'll see in 2 years once I graduate where I'll go. It's nice being on the lakes and being in port every 2nd or 3rd day, but longer trips are nice because you can get into a routine. I'll have an unlimited 3rd mates license, so I can go anywhere with it really.

Morning lodge and people within.

Another "Work From Home Wednesday". Which is the best kind of work, if you can get it!

Did a bit of TV research online, since my TV died on Monday. I think I will be getting a Vizio.

$500 gets me 32" LCD, 1080p, with all the necessary outputs (RCA, HDMI, etc.)

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 78: The Rep Lodge Yacht club.

Wow, everyone must have a straight-from-the-farm beef connection now!:p

I'm considering buying it myself, but thats hard for me to do, since every time I visit my parents my mom insists on send a bunch of meat with me. It sucks to buy steak after getting it for free for your entire life.

What's something like that going for?

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 78: The Rep Lodge Yacht club.

Have they moved SUNY Maritime? I remember it being in the Bronx, which is part of NYC, in Fort Schuyler at the Throgs Neck Bridge.

that's where it is, but I consider it just outside the city itself. Technically the address is in the Bronx, but we're about as far east in the Bx as you can go without being on Strong Island.

Morning, Lodge! I've already done two loads of dishes, a load of laundry, cleaned up the kitchen floor, and worked out today. Yet, there's more to do...

In comparison, I've done nothing. Woke up, went to work, wrote 2 e-mails, and cursed at idiot co-workers.
