Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 77: Arcade Games of the Reagan 80s

Sounds good to me. As for when to meet, not knowing what all goes on, I'll leave it up to you guys to figure out. Once a time is agreed upon, just let me know and we'll be there. :)
So I just found out one of my good friends(/ex/person crazy enough to go to every CCHA arena with me) had looked at the house I'm buying several times. His wife is in med school now, so they've decided to delay house buying until she has a job. But I'm amused that they were considering that one. I guess I'll have to invite them over.

Mel and monster: I'm thinking I'll get there around 1:30 tomorrow. Not sure where I'll be. I might bring several other friends with me. I plan to have my phone on. And I'll do my best not to get locked away somewhere and unable to contact anyone while everyone leaves me a bunch of voicemails
Sounds good to me as well. I probably wasn't going to get out of here until about noon anyways. Laid down and did the whole starring up at the ceiling bit for like 3 hours past my usual crash time. So I'll probably be wanting to do some sleeping tonight. And as far as getting looked up, that shouldn't be too much of a problem for me within the time being. I do gotta go down to the County Courthouse today, but thats just to go get a copy of the proof that I really wasn't just stitched together in a lab somewhere. ;)

Happy Friday Lodge. Here at home today. My old heating unit has been removed. Waiting for the new one to be installed. It's going much faster than I thought. The guys were here right at 8am. Moving along nicely. And it's a glorious day. I may go sit by the pool later. :)
Lucky Bassturd!!! isn't that how a lot of pornos start??? :D
I am back. Apparently, I am still alive. :)
Thats always a good sign of health, at your age anyways. ;) :D

True and Aug. 1 is a Saturday. :p

I don't think I'll need too much stuff for the new place (I'll be bringing most of my old stuff) other than a dresser (yay! There will be room for one!) and a few short bookshelves (as opposed to my one tall one). Anything I need, I'm sure I can get off of Craigslist as most people in my neighborhood unload their apartments there during the month of August.

Is that legal? Though I suppose you didn't sign anything, so there isn't a binding agreement.

That's awesome.

"Crisis" here this morning. Two of the partners never changed the passwords on their new machines and they expired, locking them out of their computers and Blackberries. They were on their way to Court and didn't even need them... That is hardly a crisis...Crisis is missing client, forgetting to file something, etc.
They were probably just upset that they probably couldn't look at their porn this morning. ;)

Long story.

At work we have a thing going for the United Way. Employees can bring in their DVD's and other employees can rent them for a $1.00 a week with all proceeds going to the United Way. Pretty neat deal actually. We have over 600 DVD's to choose from.

Mrs. g and myself are not big TV/movie watchers (sports mostly) and we do not let our kids watch much TV. Little g is allowed to watch certain DVD's as a treat. Anyways, Little g really likes Toy Story. I bought it for him a couple months ago. (FWIW, Thomas the Train is becoming old news.) I have been trying to find Toy Story II in the stores but have been unsuccessful, I could probably buy online but have not pursued that angle yet.

Toy Story II is available to rent at work. I rented it for Little g. He loves the movie! In fact I rented it for three weeks and it was returned yesterday. Little g was "bummed" that he could not watch Toy Story II last night. He does have a Toy Story book, this book is very thin. I was not paying attention and he jammed this book in the DVD player with the plans of being able to watch the movie. The book actually was thin enough to fit in the DVD player. (5 disc carousel which is 7 years old) However, it did not want to come out. In the process of attempting to get the book out daddy lost his patience and did get the book out but the DVD player didn't fare so well. ;)

FWIWII In the movie some new characters are introduced. Bullseye in particular is a horse. Before watching Toy Story II Little g had some apprehension about riding horses. (which he does for therapy) Since Woody rides Bullseye in the movie Little g pretends he is Woody and therefore loves riding his therapy horse. :)

FWIWIII Little g had horse riding last night. His little horse Chester (Chester is small like a Shetland pony) was not feeling so well so they decided to have little g ride a big horse named Blackjack. Little g loved riding Blackjack and will now more than likely ride him going forward.

FWIWIV Toy Story III will be coming out next spring/summer.
The Monster demands that you show us some pictures of Lit G "riding like the wind." And if you could take that half minute to pose him with a cowboy hat instead of a helmet, bonus!;) Especially in another 12 years or so and you're putting together pictures of him for his graduation party.

Yeah, spend some of this morning poking thru the remains of my grad party stuff.

I have a hunch that Toy Story and II are locked in the Disney Vault (read: unavailable to make people spend money when it's released every 10 years) till this movie gets released...
Wouldn't surprise me. They might just release a special 3 movie combo after TS3 is out, but thats probably going to be super expensive, and likely very limited.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 77: Arcade Games of the Reagan 80s

That was a fast change of mind. :p

what change? I hate teaching... its really exhausting and mentally/emotionally draining... I'll just miss this group. They would have been fun to hang out with.

I work in the corporate communications department of a large insurance company. We're kinda the brand stewards.

Speaking of which, I'll be back out for a week in August, and it's looking like it might very well be the week you're in Chicago.

So you can't make it to that conference? (I did send you the link to it, didn't I?)

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 77: Arcade Games of the Reagan 80s

I went to Subway for lunch. (while I know that many around here don't like Subway, I don't care, it is close, easy and I think it tastes fine) There was one girl, I'm guessing high school aged, that looked like a 15 year old version of Marissa Tomei, that decided to dye her hair blonde and challenge Lindsey Lohan to a dick sucking contest. It was interesting...
The other 2 high school girls were decked out in makeup and had their hair done up nice, apparently they didn't realize that Subway uniforms pretty much negates any attempt to look good.:p
i'm starting to miss my students... I had a good bunch... feisty though... especially the cute girl in the front... :(
My friend had a similar situation that he, um, took advantage of. Too bad he teaches high school.
Luckily (smartly) for him, this "relationship" started a couple weeks after graduation. He said the school had no problem with it.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 77: Arcade Games of the Reagan 80s

in this case, gmann, I have a business proposal for you :)

I'm listening.

However, If this is your sly way of mentioning what the young kids are calling it these days I'm out. :p ;) :D

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 77: Arcade Games of the Reagan 80s

So I need a little help, is this just awesome, or do I just feel that way because I'm a giant design geek.
It's funny, but inaccurate. Coke just went back to that logo. Remember when the logo was just "Coke" and then "Coke." and then Coca-Cola Classic" and then finally back to the "Coca-Cola" logo in the last couple years.

Will do. However, nobody in the g household owns a ten gallon or shiatkickers. Mrs. g and I were just talking last night that we should take some pics of him on the horse. Then Mrs. g mentioned it would be nice to have a professional photographer come out and take some pics. Talk about cha ching. Me and my big mouth.

Regarding Toy Story III......... what are the odds that by Christmas the stores are packed full of Toy Story stuff????????

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 77: Arcade Games of the Reagan 80s

FYI, the brand nazis are the ones who are hated by the largest % of the company.

I have absolutely no problem with that.

I'm almost sure Coca Cola has always pretty much used that logo, they've used shortened logo's and secondary logo's, but for the most part their logo has always been what they're logo is.

That's kind of like how Pepsi has a different logo for every different product that they have, but the Pepsi logo is still the Pepsi logo, but it's just a part of a logo family.

You put a ten gallon hat on him and he'll look like Speedy Gonzalez wearing a sombrero made for Big Bird.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 77: Arcade Games of the Reagan 80s

gmann, In regard to your rep: consider the source of the info you passed along to me. Dubya T Dubya is a pot-stirring, moronic yahoo. And those are his good qualities. :D Additionally, he's on his way to God-forsaken OKC for six days and by the time he arrives this thread will be long gone. Throw in the fact that he can't read and I have no reason to be concerned. I think.

;)

True. :p But I still might pull the trigger some day just for the hell of it. ;)

Actually, tLodge should have experimented with trying to zap each other down to zilch and then build each other up during the offseason. For the mathologists out there, how long would that possibly take??????? :)

For fun we should knock Gonzo down and see how he responds when he gets back from Alaska. :)

Cripes I lol'd at that. Thanks.

Cheyenne Frontier Days [one of the country's oldest and preeminent rodeos] runs for two weeks and starts later this month. Should I be looking for your little squirt kid in the calf roping or bull riding event? ;)
