Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 200 - End of Season

I have to laugh at "a quick 1 day run to Houghton." :D

I refuse to believe that easterners fully understand drive times in the midwest. :D

And you don't understand that in the time it takes to do a quick 1 day run to Houghton, it will take the same amount of time to travel 10 miles here.

Good morning Lodge. Taking a half day today. Going with my mom and my brothers to see the financial planner guy to see what my mom might need to do (sign stuff, change beneficiaries, etc.)

Hey mookie - I got one of the senior placemat posters for you at the banquet on Saturday. Are you ever making a trip back to the homeland this year???? Otherwise, let me know about sending to you wherever you may be.

This!!
If you want to go south of Boston (35 miles) it can take upward of 2 hours. Getting to drive without the traffic- pffft. I can drive all day

Good Afternoon Lodge!

I fully understand that. :) Too many people out east, screw that traffic. :p That, and the parking, although your mass transit is so much better out there.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 200 - End of Season

Denver's light rail is pretty solid, though there's been some shenanigans with PTC/flagging/cars getting creamed crossing the new lines out to the airport and outer Denver burbs.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 200 - End of Season

Of course. Can't have any "undesirables" riding out to Edina.

It's more about nature or cutting down trees or something. WE WANT MASS TRANSIT! BUT DON'T CUT DOWN TREES FOR THE GREATER GOOD OF A SMALLER CARBON FOOTPRINT!

People are weird. Hopkins (suburb that will have a station) even redesigned a bike path and street from the station to their main drag of downtown in anticipation of this light rail route. The bike path was widened and extended, and the street became a one-way to funnel drivers into downtown. Lost some parking spots, but minimal damage there.

I was impressed with the light rail for the F4 in 2008 (obv pre-airport light rail). Smooth, easy to use, the hours of operation, it was great.

A total trip time of 30 hours. 13 driving, 9 in meetings, 2 watching Thrones, 6 sleeping. Quick turnaround.

Also, 13 hours to go 10 miles...sure...

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 200 - End of Season

It's not. Mpls-StP's is absolute garbage.

mookie used your little trains (boston green line equiv) from the airport to downtown. did it's job.

colleagues here always take cars (cabs, limo, service, etc) when travel while mookie looks for trains. they offer how they like trains too, but then pass. mookie has transit cards for a bunch of cities and tops them up when leaving so they are ready to use when/if he returns.
