Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 200 - End of Season

So, had a quick meeting with our department's Talent Advisor. Wanted to get her thoughts on what my manager said to me, and what the company policy is. She said my manager had talked to her about my upcoming surgery and wanted my manager to make sure I understood it's actually up to the discretion of the Short Term Disability case manager to determine how long I'm out. It's not up to my doctor. I told her I absolutely understood that, I was concerned that my doctor and the case manager could come to an agreement and that she could override it. The Talent Advisor said she absolutely cannot do that. If both my doctor and the case manager agree to 4 weeks of disability leave, she can't do anything about that. And I told her that's what my anxiety was about.
that gets my dander up. I love when someone other than the person taking care of the pt gets to decide what happens because that person, of course, will be liable if things don't go well.

Happy Birthday wT!

Happy Birthday wT!

Thanks. It was a good day. Had lunch with former coworkers. Current coworker that shares my birthday had fun telling everyone to wish me a happy birthday, to which I then said "thanks, now wish that guy a happy birthday".

NaSK took me out to a nice dinner. Good thing we had no plans for the night, as it took 2 hours. We had 2 servers that didn't communicate with each other, so the service was very slow, but we enjoyed the meal and time together. I was sad when I saw other people getting candles in their birthday dessert, and I didn't, so NaSK asked for them to bring a candle for what was left of our dessert at that time. The waitress that brought dessert hadn't been told it was my b-day, the other waiter was.

Still, really good meal, and this was one of the restaurants in town that has a great birthday deal (hence at least 2 other tables celebrating a birthday). On the day of (they make you show ID) birthday person essentially eats free...50% off the food bill if 2 people, 33% off if 3 people, etc.
