Good morning Lodge, Happy Monday.

Came down with a cold somehow over the weekend. It started Friday. I'm sure my weekend excursion to NY didn't help. This is NOT the week I can be sick. I'll be working all day and night on the 4th. Thankfully I will be off on the 5th.

Morning, Lodge.

Ralph -- "vom" -- Sounds right to me. :D I always forget about the contraction of the preposition with the article.

Uh, that was last week?

Welcome to Dave's Mind, where it's always a week behind. :o

We picked a great day to attend a Twins game. The weather was perfect. The boys got to meet a couple players. One ex player in particular went way out of his way for the g boys. Ron Commer. Class act. After the game the boys and I got to run the bases.

That's fantastic, g.

He's not as bad as some others. At first it was bad, but he's cooled off a bit.

Said niece & family were at the cabin yesterday, I almost took a picture of their daughter & tagged you. :D

The biggest offenders are a few people I graduated high school with, that post an album of 30 pictures 5/7 days of the week. I'm not exaggerating. And there are no family pictures, of them with their baby, there are 30 pictures of a baby laying on a blanket.

Had a girl moon us yesterday afternoon on the boat. First one for the summer! Looks like they're learning that we won't honk the horn unless we get a show.
Just wait until those kids are older. Don't you think that those kids are going to be just a little bit ****ed off when they realize that the embarrassing baby pictures that normally are never seen short of say a graduation party or something like that are all online for everybody to see and who knows who has seen em already?

Learn how to quote dip****!!! ;)

I hate the weekly updates. Have a few friends that every week take a picture of the baby and a sign with how many weeks old it is. Your kid looked the same at 36 weeks as it does now, please stop.

Those, and the pregnant belly picks that keep clogging up my newsfeed. One I can deal with, once a week is too much though. Oh and one friend who writes things about how beautiful his wife is and posts pictures of her in a string bikini, very pregnant belly and some poorly done tattoo work. I don't want to see those pictures, and they cannot be un-seen.

The pregnant bellies have taken over my feed. Drives me nuts.

My friends that already have kids have a lot of status updates, but not a ton of picture posting. That I can deal with fine.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #2*2*7*6: It's Summer, why is there MATHS?!

It would never have occurred to me to photograph my wife's pregnant belly. And had I posted one of those I wouldn't have survived to post a second one.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #2*2*7*6: It's Summer, why is there MATHS?!

I've got a buddy who has a photography business as a side job. His New Year's resolution was to post a photo of the day. Once his daughter was born, it's been all baby. Now, I sort of don't mind because I'm not around to get to see her, and she is so darn cute, but it would be nice if he peppered in something different once in awhile.

I've posted exactly one picture to facebook and made a few mentions. I've talked about it more on the board than facebook, and even that hasn't been a lot.

Afternoon. Drove a manual for the first time. That was interesting.

TRANSMISSION SNOB FIGHT!

/want to learn because someday I want a sports car, just don't want to wreck someone's transmission in the process
//knows how it works, just never done it

It just takes time to get used to the feel, to know where the friction point is during the shift. And it's different on every vehicle type. I drove an 88 Bronco II, manual transmission, then moved on to a 90 Probe, again a manual transmission. Took a spring break down south, drove my buddy's 89 Bronco II. Holy fraking shiite, it felt like learning to drive that transmission all over again. It didn't help that my seat was all the way forward because we were four guys packed into a small SUV with a ton of camping gear, but it was still more of a re-learning curve than I expected.

Manual isn't too bad. Nothing more than an hour or 2 in a parking lot. Hell, once you get it rolling in 1st, it's gravy.

Got to drive my mom's manual Scion tC when up in Virginia, hadn't driven it in 8 months. No stalls, no hard shifts. Just like riding a bike.
