Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 198 - A New Season Begins...

bet that is 'brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr' :p

mookie has his window open in the office here... finally cooled down a bit. joe wanted a marty mcfly vest cause he is cold when it is in the 70s

Well mookie, it is Siberia, so it is a bit chilly. But I like it that way. No different than a MN winter or a UP winter, and winter is my favorite season. Plus, I don't have to ask to get hockey put on a TV at the bar here! ( I guess it has that in common with MN and the UP too)

Good morning Lodge.

I have 12 days of pto to burn before year end......I’m liking my odds of that happening over the next 22 working days.

Edit.

Had a scary situation occur Sunday while pheasant hunting. It was just myself and my dog. We were walking through some cattails on a pond. If you have ever walked through cattails you know they are thick. Anyways, my dog was about 20 feet in front of me and suddenly he went silent. I called for him. Nothing. I rang his collar. Nothing. Suddenly I heard him whimper and then heard him splashing. He had broken through the ice. Long story short, after some dangerous maneuvering and a couple split second thoughts of thinking my dog was not going to make it.......I was able to get him out. It’s crazy how quickly life can change.

17F in Tyumen today, sounds alright to me. 8F on Friday is about my limit. Wouldn't want to be there in January when it's probably 20 below.

Eh, I don't think so. I actually got 4 hours of decent sleep between MSP and CDG. I don't get any sleep in economy when I go trans-Atlantic. So, it did help me tremendously. With that said, I wouldn't spend the money for personal travel, may use miles though.

Went to a CSKA Moscow hockey game last night. Got there late because the taxi driver took me to their old arena. The guy was clueless. So I just got out and booked Russia's version of Uber to take me the rest of the way. It was good hockey, highly skilled, and near to NHL level as I have seen.
Yrs ago one of their teams came to play mr les team. Very, very skilled with their sticks. Magic with the puck. At the time mr les team was very physical. Lots of checking. It was a small arena and there was some derisive talk about how the Russkies didn't like the physical game. Welllll.... they were fast, had hands like magic and no one could hit what they couldn't catch.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 198 - A New Season Begins...

Well, Russians are kinda good at hockey. ;)

Evening, Lodge. Today was weird at work. System was all messed up; it wasn't DOWN, but glitches galore, so orders were trickling in. Got it fixed by noon, and then there went the boom. Crazy busy as a day's total, it was made difficult by the incoming stuff being compressed into 5 hours, instead of 8 (as for window to actually get an order in). Left my building an hour late, due to that late volume. Ugh.

Good morning. Last day in Luxembourg, heading to Brugge today then onto Normandy for several days. Luxembourg and Luxembourg City are fantastic!

****ing Russians :p

I think the British engineer that is here representing my customer is about to rip the head off of the Russian engineer, who doesn't listen to a word the Brit says, and thus screws up constantly.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 198 - A New Season Begins...

Getting an inch of snow tonight, I guess. Started up right before rush hour, so only a dusting was there when I left work at 6. Started around 2 in my area. WITHIN A HALF AN HOUR, my afternoon UPS guy said there was someone already in a ditch, skidded out. I'd say "unreal" but I know better.

Of course, on the way home, backups everywhere. There wasn't even standing snow on the roads, it's still too warm out. Aye carumba.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 198 - A New Season Begins...

Good morning everyone. Already 10:30, **** near lunch time, and haven't gotten anything done. Luckily none of the delay is related to my equipment (engine). About 10 deg F, 25mph north wind, and several inches of snow so far this morning.
