Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 196: Spam, Spam, Spam

Good evening Lodge!

Surprise visit by the plasterer at pre-8AM that lasted all day. No kitchen for 2+ days. And the day improved from there  Does every day that starts with a T qualify as Tuesday?

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 196: Spam, Spam, Spam

Bought Mothers Day cards yesterday. Sat down tonight to write out the one for my godmother to mail tomorrow and realized I bought a birthday card. D'oh! On a somewhat separate note, when did cards become so expensive????

They became expensive a while back. I gave up on cards, frankly. Spend $4 or whatever for something that will be tossed a couple days later? What a racket. I'd rather wish them a happy whatever in person if possible, or a phone call.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 196: Spam, Spam, Spam

Did it come with an appearance by Chris Hansen?

No, but I actually might end up putting stickers on it because I probably don't want to sit around a coffee shop with a laptop with "PREDATOR" in giant block letters on the back of it.

Just put pictures of the front grill of a Lexus on it.

****ed up my hand. Puncture wound. Could see fat cells coming out of the hole before it sealed back up.

You could throw a Nashville sticker on the front.

Ouch. Hope all is well.

Its fine. Had to go to the doctor because 1) I didn't think my tetanus shots were up-to-date, and I essentially stabbed myself with a rusty piece of sheet metal. (Shots were good though, I forgot I got a booster before going to Colombia a few years ago). 2) There is no way this thing doesn't get infected as all hell, so I needed antibiotics, the doctor agreed. 3) I figured I'd need stitches, but the doctor said it was already sealed up and healing an hour after it happened, and something about I must be a wolverine, apparently wolverines heal fast? Also, she apparently doesn't like stitching dirty puncture wounds.

It didn't look like a stitchable wound, frankly. All the medicine, sure.

It was worse than it looked in the picture, that was after it had sealed itself back up, so you can't really see how nasty it was. Mrs. WPOS looked at it right after it happened and thought it should get a couple stitches, and, as you know, she does medical stuff.

Mrs WPOS does know her stuff, I'll give her that. Was unaware that was an "after" pic. My parents were both EMTs.

Anyone else wanna take this?

'ewe, there's a small chance I might be floating past Memphis at the end of MiM. Will let you know early next week once I know more.
Keep me posted -- I will be there the 16th - 21st for Memphis in May. If you're sailing by, take some time to wave at Tom Lee Park. :D
Shoot me an email through here and I'll send you my phone number.

Oh heck, should almost certainly be past there by the 21st.

If I'm on shift, I'll even blast the horn ;)
