Month off. Super hectic, but going to be a blast.

Oh, and still renting out my *HTikiHut this past weekend. And probably for remaining weekends until mid-March.

Good Morning Lodge from the *HT!

Lazy day around here. Getting ready for snowmageddon. Twin Cities is divided. South and east is doomed. North and west not so much.

Checked Wunderground just now. Where I am, they've downgraded from 10"-12" to 3" or so. Maybe.

We are getting rain. yuck. I would rather have snow.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 194: What to do now that winter has really started?

Evening, Lodge. Stopped by the corner store before the Vikes game for a beer, then got word they were going to stay open for the entirety of the game. Ended up being the staff (those on the clock, AND those not on the clock) and a couple other regulars. Basically a closed party at that point. Helped ease the pain from the MN game. Did some bottle-sharing, just hanging out. Felt like a house party, to be honest.

Also ran into a buddy I hadn't seen in about 6 months, that was a nice surprise. Good to talk to him again.

Finally, my buddy who got the cancer? Found out that over 25K has been raised for him, by the regional beer groups alone. A local radio station also had a fundraiser for him, but I don't know that total. There was a beer group party last weekend, and he Skyped it, and saw the support for him, and I guess he was just about in tears in gratitude. Gives me a renewed faith in humanity. The dude is a class act, and am proud that so many people are helping him out.

Waiting on the Snowpocalypse. It was supposed to have rained, at the least, by now. Nothing. Absolutely nothing.

Adventures of the Great Flood continue. FInally getting things moving but everything is going thru the contractor. Got a text this AM saying Pod will be delivered this AM- Wait. What? Mold testing guy is also coming at 10:30. In the shower and phone rings. Hop out to answer it- mold guy is coming 1 h early, is this OK. Sure, I say. I hang up. I get a tet the Pod is arriving before 10. Same time as the mold guy. Sigh. They say plans are what humans have to make God laugh

As of yesterday afternoon, it was supposed to rain all night and then snow today. They got the latter part right. :p

Played the "As long as I am on the right side of the road, I'm fine" game tonight. Side roads not plowed, so navigating the tire ridges was interesting. Zero issues though. I love my car.

Normally a 7 minute commute, it only took me 15 minutes to get home tonight. The side roads were empty, maybe saw 2-3 cars total, and usually the traffic is rather heavy.

Good Evening, Lodge!

Going to work this morning was easy and took the usual 30 minutes. Going home was a different story. 90 minutes. Fun times picking a lane and hoping it was a lane. On the plus side, my boss closed shop at 2 so all of us could try to make it home during the daylight.

For people like you ;) (the locals) Apple Valley Old Chicago closed at 4pm, Ansari's closed at 6pm, and Eden Prairie Old Chicago closed at 5pm, all due to weather. The AVOC folk had to wait for the parking lot plow to come by, due to massive drifting in the parking lot. They couldn't get through the drifts.

Nice call.

That it was supposed to have rained and nothing? That actually happened. By my count, the weather terrorists were 50% correct, within 24 hours of an event. ;)

The snow part, they got mostly right. A little heavier than predicted in the NW metro, but not by much.

Figuring out if it's going to rain within the next 12 hours or not shouldn't be difficult, if you know it's going to snow x amount of inches (give or take 1-2 inches) within the next 24 hours. Derp.

Umm, there's a reason the forecasts I use at work update every 6 hours, and often even amend within those 6 hours.
