I am not sure that is the entire reason for the boredom since I am quite able to do the 3.2-mile loop around Haines Point 20 or so times. Of course there is some variety there. For example today I watched as the Potomac was rising with the tide eventually flooding part of the trail and then ebbing. Usually that doesn't happen this time of the year because of the cooler temperature, but thanks to global warming it was warm enough -- not as bad as in midsummer but still very noticeable.

At least there are more people in this world that appreciate the world around which they live. This is one of the reasons why I take road trips and don't fly.
