Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #190: Springing Forward

Good morning Lodge. Spent this morning at the dentist for my 4-month cleaning. And I have a cavity. At my age. A CAVITY! For the love of God....half of my mouth is fillings.

You should just go for the full grill, and then start your career as a rapper.

Yeah, I could imagine it would be fun for someone out of college seeing that much cash at once. It would also be fairly scary that you don't get your paycheck until 30 days later in some cases.
Late to the conversation, but this. My first job out of college was payed monthly. I started mid-May and didn't get paid until the end of June. 6 weeks of working with no money in my pocket. As a broke college kid, it hurt and would have been scary if I wasn't fortunate to have the bank of Mom & Dad float me some money until that first paycheck. Not a problem after that first paycheck, as I've always lived within my means, but certainly a rough start.

Evening, Lodge. Just found out tonight that my longtime childhood neighbor, who got divorced a couple years ago, finally sold his house, and will be moving away. Awesome guy. Sad story. Had lived there for at least 30 years. My parents are now the longest tenured residents in the cul-de-sac, by far. :(

Also found out that a former neighbor, who funny enough I played softball against in later years, has died from a brain tumor. He was 55. :(

Yeah, not a lot of good news from the neighborhood tonight.

Sorry to hear.

Well, it's not like the games are outside!

No, but I don't expect to be able to get around from airport to hotel to restaurant to United Center without spending time outside. And we had hoped to be out and about quite a bit on Friday. I'm spoiled by some pretty nice weather here lately too. I was planning to take the L, might use Uber instead.

What are you going to do in Chicago with no lawn to yell at kids about?

Good morning fellow Lodge peeps. It's Tuesday. It's windy and rainy. Perfect for Tuesday. Ugh. Bunch of stuff to do before I leave tonight. Just printed my boarding pass for tomorrow and got a Group 6. Um, I used miles, and lots of them. Last time I used this many miles I got priority boarding and didn't have to pay for luggage. And I've never gotten lower than Group 3. They're getting an earful from me tomorrow at check in.
