Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #190: Springing Forward

Well.....
LadyBoss is gone. Her last day was today. Properly up and quit (2 weeks and everything). No one knew until today. Why? Stop me if you heard this before: long hours, due to stupid crap from above. Yep. Sucks, too, she was good. She supervised, didn't manage. Only stuck her nose in when needed, which is what a boss SHOULD do. She lasted about 4 months. Someone up in the chain of command better friggin' realize something's wrong with their choices. It's maddening.

My OTHER "big boss" (not DHeadBoss) also gave out reviews today. He is impressed by me, and self-admitted that he is blown away how I run my building. He is the FIRST boss to flat out say, "You RUN this building. It's YOURS." That felt rather good. I gave him some background (neutral info, no opinion based info) on the background that DHeadBoss, another co-worker, and I have in the history of my career there (example: all 3 of us trained our building when we switched to paperless system). He was thankful for that, as he's only been here for about 5 months and is still learning the workings of things at times. Gave him some insight as to how certain things are the way they are.

One more day until regionals and a long weekend. Can't wait.

Good Morning Lodge.

Jr started working at a car dealership (Carousel Audi) a few months ago as a runner (translation-grunt). He just took a full time position as transport manager, he handles all the loaner cars for service. First he trained his replacement. Last night his boss complimented him after his first day. He was told he's already better at it than the guy he replaced because he can talk to the customers. Jr will continue to take classes, he has three now and will take two more in summer.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #190: Springing Forward

So back in November I had foot surgery to fix an injury. I got a temporary disabled parking pass because I couldn't walk at all. I haven't recovered completely but there are no longer any very obvious signs of my injury and I can walk fairly normally now. But my parking pass still has 2 months on it before it expires. I don't use it much but occasionally when there are multiple available spaces and I know I won't be very long, like picking my kid up from the hockey rink, I might use it. My wife told me that if I do use it to make sure to limp more that necessary just so it's noticeable and so I won't get any dirty looks.

Good morning Lodge. Man, it's FREEZING here today. I was walking from the T station to the office, crossing the street behind a young woman with a winter jacket, capri pants, flat shoes and NO SOCKS. Her legs were red from the cold. What on earth is wrong with these kids??? And get off my lawn!:p

Taking a half day vacation tomorrow to go to the watch party for BU's one and done since I didn't make the trek to Fargo. mookie - are you going? If not, will you be watching?

"Dear Lord,

Please let Opposite Girl's powers be strong tomorrow. Let her sandbagging be better than the opponents; and they know how to bag sand up there!

Amen!"

;)

WHen lil was lil he made some comment because a girl was dressed like this and her legs were purple. He asked in a very loud voice why she was so stupid. I told him sometimes teenagers do silly things because they think it will impress other teenagers. He told me very loudly he hoped he was NEVER that STOOOOPID! The girl was not happy. I was giggling.
I'm indifferent. :D

Day off tomorrow for the hockey, and instead of Rum Regionals, it's Rare Beer Regionals this year. :) Cannot wait for a good time.

It's like the dillweed that MTU has every year who wears shorts to class as soon as the temp hits 30 in the spring. Thinks he's being sooooo funny.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #190: Springing Forward

All of the Californians probably thought that about me the last 2 nights. I was out and about in LA both nights in shorts and a t-shirt, while everyone else was bundled up. Of course, it was like 50 degrees, so its not like it was even cold.
