I'll still rock the jersey today. The rare exception where I don't wear an NFL jersey on NFL Sunday.

BTW, AV OC is confirmed for next week, noon games. You better show up!

I'll tell the hubby and the rest of the gang that we are having a change of venue next week. I will try to get there early to get MY booth.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #187: Lazy End Days Of Summer

I have a crack forming in my basement floor, running perpendicular to the wall from which it grew. It's been there since I bought the house in 2005, looked like a normal concrete shrinkage crack. The problem is that over the past few weeks it's grown and now water is seeping up from it. This thing has me very worried now because of the water seeping into the basement.

Greetings Lodge. At the Fox Theater in Detroit, getting ready to watch Bourdain do his live show. This oughtta be good. :D

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #187: Lazy End Days Of Summer

Water heater failed sometime since Sunday morning.

Between the water softener failing in September, the concrete crack in my basement floor starting to leak water and my water heater, I've had enough of homeownership.

Good morning Lodge. Not sure if people are taking the day/working from home today because of Halloween, but traffic was very manageable this morning. They're taking down the toll booths here on the Mass Pike and people were predicting bad traffic jams this morning but it didn't happen. I'm sure tomorrow it will be a nightmare, because Tuesdays usually are. But even the T was a real easy ride today. Do people tend to take this day off?

How old is the house? About 15-18 years, if so it sounds about right. It's kinda how it works with home ownership. It's why people buy the maintenance plans from utilities and such.

Construction on the house completed in August 2004, so I'm just over 12 years with the water heater. The water softener was installed after I bought the house in July 2005. It's all in the general timeline of when to expect things, but the fact that it's all happening right on top of each other is what's most irritating.

No one has replied Murphy's Law yet. And remember the corollary, "Murphy was an optimist."

Downtown is pretty quiet right now. Granted, it is a Monday.
