Me too, but it ain't doing much. Found a mechanic to come out this AM. Jr is home and it should just be adding charge to the unit, hopefully he doesn't rip me off too badly. I'd like to able to sleep at night for the weekend, and I can't do it if I'm sweating heavily.

I had an issue with mine a few weeks ago. Wasn't really cooling the house. I took a power washer and washed the outside unit. It has been running perfect ever since.

It is true that I have not washed the unit off this spring as I usually do. I did look at it though to make sure it wasn't clogged with cottonwood lint and it didn't look too bad. Good suggestion though, and I should have Jr hit it with the hose before the guy gets there.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #185: Summer Activities

If you have had sx for years that haven't changed a migraine dx is based on history. No physical exam or labs will prove it is a migraine. They are used to rule out something else if sx have changed or become debilitating. (exception- change in character after yrs of same sx.) One of the things they teach us is if someone has migraines just about every HA they have will be a migraine with the difference only being the severity. A migraine is a migraine, is a migraine. Imitrex won't help anything but a migraine. Excedrin Migraine works because aspirin decreases the inflammation and caffiene constricts the vessels. Same with chocolate. Caffiene can trigger HA because it is a stimulant but it can be a treatment if you take it at onset (one of the folk remedies is a coke and monster doses of Ibuprofen- it works for a lot of people).

Biggest mistake people make when treating migraines is to wait to take something. The longer you wait, the more inflammation and nerve irritation occurs. This was one of those aha! moments when I was at that seminar. I used to wait to see if it was going to get bad before I tried to take something. That meant when I finally took something, it would get it to a dull roar and then rebound back so I would have a HA on and off for 2-3 days. Now I run for the med because if I take it soon enough it will abort the HA and only leave me with that stupid feeling.

The reason why I wait to take something in the morning is that the Imitrex lasts for about 12-14 hours. At least for me. I need to be able to get through a work day. Also, the prescription says not to take two in a 24 hour period so I'll take Excedrin Migraine in between. I also try not to take either on an empty stomach so I'll have a cookie or cracker on my nightstand along with water so I can eat that before I take it. I only get 9 pills per prescription, which is kind of annoying, so I try not to take more than two during one of my bouts.

That's interesting. Usually you take one, repeat in 2 hours if HA is not resolved. I wonder why they do that.

Anyways....

Yard sale in our neighborhood tomorrow. Lots of stuff everywhere....

Winner winner chicken dinner.

For me this is crucial. I don't recall the name of the med I take for it but if I can pop one as soon as I feel a headache coming on it usually prevents a nasty one from happening. I can take one more pill within 2 hours of taking the first one.

Add to my symptoms. Not only greasy foods, but lunch has shown that foods from the subcontinent are also a trigger.

I get that too, but in my case it's because I am allergic to cashews, and it is impossible to tell which curries are thickened with cashew paste and which ones aren't. I've basically had to give up on Indian food because of it. Except for na'an and biryani anyway.

I love Indian food, even though it usually gives me the liqui****s. The odd thing is, I never had an issue with any meal while actually in India...

But it tastes so good!

True. However, I ate out at The St. Paul grill (twice), Mannys and Oceanaire this past week. Great establishments and no shiats. That's how I roll.

Speaking of the Shiats. I just filled out my expense report. I paid for a couple of the meals. We had 19 people in our group. Appetizers, drinks, wine, dinner, dessert.

We did St. Paul Grille for a Christmas dinner one year. There were six of us. $1200. My boss had some 'splaining to do when he turned the report in. He never let me pick the establishment ever again. :)

So there's a pinball/arcade expo in Denver this weekend.

Billy Mitchell is going to be there. I'm seriously thinking about not going because of that.

You stuck it to "The Man" once - that's all that matters. :D

Is Billy Mitchell not as cool as Billy Zabka?

Who's Billy Mitchell?

Did you try my remedy to resolve your ground hog issue? :)

What they eat can't wrap around sponges. He got another one later.

"No matter what I say, it draws controversy...sort of like the abortion issue."

And with out even knowing who this guy is, I can already tell he's something of a d-bag. :p

The doc obviously slanted the story a little, but he is indeed that big of a d-bag.

Had a good night tonight at LTD Brewing in Hopkins, got to taste some beers that ran out rather quickly, and once it cooled down, even the humidity was bearable.
