Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #183: The Final Approach To Off-Season

So fare my Easter dinner has consisted entirely of frozen adult beverages by the pool.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #183: The Final Approach To Off-Season

Easter lunch was pulled pork sandies and thinking about a batch of homemade chili for supper.

Have to spend some time in the attic now looking for whatever rodent(s) is up there that we can hear in the middle of the night. Ugh.

Better to get it now, before it dies and stinks up the house.

Found evidence of mice and also found two places where squirrel sized holes are chewed through the plywood to allow access from the soffits.

Not sure how old any of these are.

Set mouse traps by that area and going to get a live trap for the possible larger animal.

Looked all around the exterior and see nowhere that a larger animal could be getting in.

That commercial about moms calling at the wrong time and the squirrels in the attic is playing in my head on a loop. :D

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #183: The Final Approach To Off-Season

My brother had a mouse issue at his house. The advice he received was to keep trees that could provide a great deal of shade at least 50ft away from his house. The reason for that is the rodents are able to approach houses when the tree canopy is close because their chances of becoming prey is lessened - the birds of prey can't see them. Once he cut back the trees he saw a dramatic reduction in their infiltration of his basement.

It should be said that my brother's backyard abuts a thin forest.

I think that you have been invaded by a family of Granatos. ;)

So it took you about 8 hours to drive something like 30 miles? I could never live out east.

Not going to sit at the *HT.

I'll take this one. Happily.

My lovely wife and I are making the traditional Easter dinner of....lasagne. :) Having some of our sibs over and neither one of us felt like making ham.

Scarlet - if you decide you don't want to go to the game you're more than welcome for dinner! We told the relatives to come over around 4 and probably eat around 5 or so. Let me know! If you don't have a car I can send YE to fetch you.

Oh wow, thanks for the offer GE! If I had seen this earlier I definitely would've responded. After I posted that this morning, I went down to the restaurant/bar in the hotel as some of the players of the parents that made the trip were partaking in the Easter brunch. I joined them. They all wound up changing their flights to fly back today, but one couple didn't have a flight till 8pm so I wound up talking all afternoon with them and then we wound up at the bar and got some food. I never made it to the game. We were watching it, though. Back in my room now, watching the QPac -UML game till my shows start. I appreciate you thinking of me.

I think I'm going to try and fly standby on an earlier flight if it's not too much of a cost. Or maybe I'll sleep in and not worry about it. Hard to say.

Sorry, UML, congrats, Q.

I would prefer Q to win it all at this point. DU next, then BC, then UND. Won't be active in any woofing, though. Let the chips fall as they may.
