Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #183: The Final Approach To Off-Season

Morning, Mark! You must be feeling good after this weekend.
I am, but there's still more work to be done.

Any word on Anas? I didn't see the hit, but I saw him gingerly celebrating and they were talking about it during the later parts of the game.
Haven't heard anything. All I noticed was him going through the handshake line using his left hand. Other than that he seemed to be right in the middle of the celebration and still had all his gear on.

Are the boys super excited? We're headed to Disney/Universal as part of our trip to FLA for the Frozen Four and I'm already jittery and super excited and it's still 3 weeks away.

Good morning Lodge.

They are excited but they have no clue what awaits them. Yesterday they were super excited just to hang at the pool having an occasional smoothie.

Evening, Lodge. Working tonight. Only supposed to work one Sunday night a month, but I'm taking a class from 0800-1200 on Tuesday, so I can't work Monday night or Tuesday night. Don't people realize that if you work nights, the hours of 0800-1200 don't exist!? They're for sleeping!! :)

Got to watch hockey all weekend though, so it's tough to complain. My congrats to les and Mark as those were exciting games! (though sorry about Saturday night, les). Sorry to the Minny fans (we weren't able to watch your game as our ridiculous cable package with all the sports still doesn't include the Big10Network. Watched the Selection Show today for the first time since '09. I remember it being more exciting...
Thanks!

Maybe the Bi6G 6 isn't exciting enough without a full complement of teams :p

True. No more smoke and mirrors and backroom deals where teams complained of being screwed with good cause. My FB feed had 3 correctly calculated brackets before MN on Saturday. The team gathering to wait for the announcement was more of a formality.

Greetings from Orlando.

Little gII woke up at 2:30 this morning (about 2.5 hours before we were supposed to get up to fly out) stating those words every parent loves to hear........"I'm going to puke." He didn't puke as I'm thinking it was pre flight jitters.

Tomorrow sea world.
bro les used to make good on the threat and puke his way through every trip. Such fond memories of driving thru England, Scotland and Wales hearing, "Hold the bag for your brother!" punctuated by retching sounds.

They will have a blast!

Morning snow and I can wait for tomorrow to go to the market for the weeks grocery order. Life is good!

Good Morning Lodge.

At work and feeling crappy. Finally slept a few hours this morning after I moved to the recliner in the living room. My ribs hurt from coughing so much.

Good luck to all the Lodgers' teams in the tourney (except, of course, the *** Hawks;)) Huh it already stars out their name.:p

"Fawks" is also an acceptable term. ;)

Good evening Lodge.

Spent the entire day at sea world. Started off colder than hell though. Like mid forties with wind chill cold.

Little gII and I went on all the big rides. Most of them five or six times. Little g built up enough nerve to try manta roller coaster. When we got to the front of the line and he saw first hand what was about to happen he had a change of heart.

Crowds were crazy. Between spring break and Easter we picked a great time to hit the parks.

I completely understand. When I first rode Wild Thing (the first "real" coaster that Valleyfair had, way back in the day?), that was the first time I dropped the F-bomb in front of the parents. Never rode that sum-beech again. White-knuckled the whole ride.

Brenthoven is not fond of those rides, to say the least. :o

My brother and his ex-wife got stuck at the top of that thing. She didn't tell anyone beforehand that she's afraid of heights, it started to come out on the way up that hill. :D

The weird thing is, I'm okay with the Corkscrew and Enterprise (the latter one of my favorites). Heights is a thing with me, sure, but those two, can't explain why I actually like them.

Get me up in something like the IDS, etc? I am as far away from the windows as possible.

Valleyfair is child's play. You Minnesota kids need some Cedar Point in your life.

I'm aware of such rides. And all the nope. The only way it would be worse if there was an Oompa-Loompa Flying Monkey doll in the seat next to me. That would be the Quad Of Creep And Fear right there.

You're missing out on the only good part of Ohio. It good enough that most Michiganders will travel across that Godforsaken state to enjoy the rides there.

I wouldn't say I'm missing it. /OfficeSpace

The last "real" ride I went on was the one where they shot you in the air however many feet, and I could see buildings in downtown Mpls, about 20-30 minutes away. NOPE. I was quite honestly scared sh*less. And the silly reason I went on the version that shot you up, instead of dropped you down? What if the safety on the down-drop failed, and I crashed to my death? Nope, not rational thinking, I fully admit. :o
