Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #182: Snow!

Morning, lodge. :) Restful day today - errands, rewatching this season of Top Chef, cleaning the kitchen, tidying up following the holiday season (putting away the boxes of Christmas stuff, sorting through a few of the boxes from my parents' house).

Good Evening, Lodge!

Hubby has an interview tomorrow. Funny. He applied to the job at 4:05pm today. Gets a call to schedule an interview for tomorrow 10 minutes later. *fingers crossed*

If you don't know, actually most of you don't, my husband was forced to resign from his job on Tuesday. The difference between this situation and 2013 is that I have a better, and better paying, job, and life is better. Also, we are both have our heads on for the most part straight.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #182: Snow!

Found out today one team I led and two more on which I played a major role were nominated for a fairly significant corporate award.
So that's pretty cool. :)

I think I'm getting to the point where I'm either going to walk out of my office or get fired. And the thing is, I don't really care which. And if he fires me, his practice is ****ed 7 ways till Sunday. I know where everything is, who to contact, how to use every bit of our software, and how to get things done. And the next person that comes in here sure as hell isn't going to put up with this. This place will crater. I've been there 19 years. Entirely too long. The next person won't be here 6 months.

The man cannot run his practice properly on any level, and he'd rather point out everyone else's ****ups, real or perceived, than get his finger out of his *** and get things done. 9 mountains of crap to deal with, and he's micro-managing the living **** out of everything except for what we need to get done at that moment to hit a deadline. Hitting a deadline around here is just about as possible as driving a dump truck to the moon.

I understand the concept about letting stuff roll off like water of a duck's back, but at some point, you don't drown the duck under Niagara Falls.

You could go work at the new Taco Bell they're building in town. :)

So, there's this Counter Sales guy, who isn't the brightest knife in the tree. Comes over to off-site to get some orders, throughout the day. He had a forklift pick today. We have two forklifts, different sizes/capabilities. TWICE he chose the wrong one.

Well, remember that scene in Austin Powers where Austin gets stuck in the corridor while trying to maneuver the machine he was on? THAT WAS THIS GUY TODAY! He was stuck in an aisle, and unless he put the product back on the shelf, he wasn't getting out. And did he give up? NO.

How this guy still has a job, I'll never know.

Having flashbacks to November. Feel for you more than you can know. Start looking, do your resume. Even if you don't move it is empowering to see all of how awesome you are on paper/screen. I have 7 days left. Can't be done soon enough. After next Friday will have an extra shovel for you to use.

Oh, I know. This has been coming and building for a while. The problem is, I'm smack in the middle of tax season. And I'm not taking another job simply to get out of this one. I've been looking, but I'm extremely selective. I'm not dealing with this nonsense again.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #182: Snow!

Greetings all. Finally heading home after a long almost two weeks on the road. Taking the red eye. Flight leaves at 11:22. I land in Boston at 5am. When I checked in, there was still nobody in the middle seat. I hope it stays that way so I can spread out a bit and try to sleep. When I get home, I'm going to drop off my bag and head over to the T garage to get my car. Fingers crossed it's till there. Then I think I'll go out to breakfast. Then go home and sleeeeeeeep.

We had this triathlon as the athlete in our two Colorado locations this week. He hasn't won a medal but he is the only guy to ever compete in all four of the Olympics that has had the triathlon. And he's really funny. Nice guy. He's going for his fifth Olympics. I hope he stays there.

That works for about 2 seconds. Maybe. I know I'm not the easiest person in the world to deal with. But good grief, get out of my way and let me do my job.

This storm's been brewing for a while.

Oh, and for those of you on FB, I have clientele on there. Not one of my brighter ideas. So this stays here, of course.

We know the rules of what stays where. ;)

And I agree of "just let me do my thing." Hence, why I love my current position. Do I do things by the book all the time? No. Do I get sh* done? Yep. Guess what, I'm finally left alone to do that. :)

I saw that on Tuesday. They can't keep the Adrian Mall going but they can put in a second Taco Bell?

Hammer, just think if you get Fired now you wouldn't have to deal with most of the 2015 tax filings. You could totally chill out out and work on getting your blood pressure under control.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #182: Snow!

Good morning! And greetings from 34k feet. I cannot get comfortable to sleep on this plane. So I'm up.
