JFC, USGS now reporting a 7.1!
Yeah, I'm doing good. Spooked but good. Like I said, never felt one that big, got kinda scary.Good to hear that you are OK.
That must be close to 50 people. If Facebook is anything to go by half of Alaska is awake right now. At 2:45 am.
Round about 40.That must be close to 50 people.
Mine is struggling. Don't want to go thru the change. Hanging on as long as possible/saddles back up to the *HT. Ugh.
Also looks like I've gotta start looking for a new laptop. Charging jack seems to be on its way out. Must resist the urge to get ALL the features.
Welp, I'm gonna be up awhile. Just had a (preliminary) 6.4 earthquake here. Not normally fazed by earthquakes but that one was easily the strongest I've ever felt. Had my apartment building swaying. Lasted long enough it triggered that "oh * is this the Big One?" fear.
we had a 2.1 that felt unsettling. I can't imagine that. Yikes.JFC, USGS now reporting a 7.1!
Watched the Bizarre Foods episode about the Minnesota State Fair this morning. Let me tell you, tHubs and I will be headed out that way in the next few years for a several day eating festival.
ETA - Good to hear you are okay, JJA!
Les - tHubs and I were talking about that earthquake - I was on the couch and he was cooking and I was terrified. Several hours to be not shaken, I can't imagine my reaction to anything stronger. We take for granted the stability of the ground beneath our feet out here.

2.1? Although in an area where you almost never have any I can understand that.we had a 2.1 that felt unsettling. I can't imagine that. Yikes.

To give an idea of what it's like, moderately powerful earthquakes like this one have 1-3 minutes of shaking (this one had about 2).
My mom lived here in 1964 for the big 9.2, I hope this one didn't trigger any lingering memories.
I only remember one other one. It was a bang and a brief shake. The one ewe and I are talking about the whole house shook for some time. That was really weird.2.1? Although in an area where you almost never have any I can understand that.

Cheese curds, roasted corn, lefse, judging for the baking competition, Famous Daves, fried pickles, tiny fish on a stick, chocolate chip cookies, some of the animal showcase, Texas Steakout, mini donuts, cinnamon buns. It wasn't about gross foods like his show normally is, he was celebrating the awesomeness of the fair. What foods were they showing?
Meat raffle -- sounds awesome!Oh, the food comas you will have!
Good afternoon, Lodge. Had an awesome time yesterday. All the food was excellent, as was the beer. Even won 1 lb bacon and 1lb of beef sticks at a meat raffle! That was a nice bonus.
Helluva time at Johnny Holm show, got to sing with the band a little during "Shipping Up To Boston." Of course, today my voice is shot, but oh well.
It's the only one I've ever experienced. I was so frightened because it was so foreign and unreal.I only remember one other one. It was a bang and a brief shake. The one ewe and I are talking about the whole house shook for some time. That was really weird.
