Ha!! I'm at the airport right now as a matter of fact. I don't see any babies yet. Kicking off almost two weeks on the road. Think happy thoughts for decent weather when I'm on the move. Much appreciated!

Good Evening, Lodge!

Another long day at work. Had to drive to Prescott, take the company Astro Van to Edina for a meeting. For the non-locals, the drive from Prescott to Edina is just over 50 miles one way. That meeting was 2 hours of my life that I will never get back. Get back to Prescott and work until 6. We are trying to get ready for our open house on Thursday and get our normal work done at the same time. It is insane. At least at the open house, there will be beer.

where is everyone?

Sleeping! :)

Awake and back at work. So excited for you, les!!

Working tonight, but off Wednesday night. Guinness dinner at a local restaurant. 5 courses paired with offerings from St. James brewery. Looking forward to it as Guinness was poison of choice in college. While I probably can't drink 2 pitchers in one sitting anymore, I'm looking forward to some drinking.

Chilling. Counting down to what should be an epic Saturday. Buddy and I are hitting up a Caribbean place for lunch about an hour north before we go to a ticketed beer-release in the same town, then headed over to bbdl's to hang out until we head to the bar for a legendary cover band. The last two times we saw these guys, bbdl sang on stage with the band (per the singer's request). :D There's even a rumor that MNS is heading to town to re-unite with us. :)

For the locals...Johnny Holm in Ham Lake. :D

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #181: Holidaze

Finally sitting in my hotel room. Missed my connecting flight from Charlotte to St. Louis. I was supposed to land around noon. Heard snow was supposed to start snowing after 2pm, so I was glad that I was supposed to be here in Fenton by then. But noooooooo. Flight lands. Go to baggage claim. No luggage. Go to baggage assistance office. Turns out my luggage made it onto my original flight. Of course. By the time I got that, snow had started. Big white flakes. Ugh. Get on the rental car shuttle. I checked my reservation.....except I had none. WHAT?? I call our travel desk - no reservation on my itinerary. I know I asked for a rental car for all three legs, not sure what happened. CRAP! Travel desk chick checks - there don't seem to be any cars available. Um, WHAT???? I tell her to book me rental cars for the other two legs, got to the desk - the guy was able to get me a car. OK great.

Then the drive. Snowing hard plus rush hour. Took over 90 minutes to get to the office. During the drive, the snow stopped. Then started again and it was more of a wet, freezing rain kind of snow. Not sure how well they treat roads here. It wasn't fun. Went to the office to check on set up, then grabbed a quick bite and finally made it to the hotel. I'm exhausted. Hopefully this ends overnight so tomorrow I can get through the event and back to the airport. I fly to Kansas City late tomorrow night. Now I'm freaking out about the weather there. It's supposed to icy. And the hotel is about an hour away from the airport. I should just try to go to sleep now but I'm waiting for the athlete we're bringing in for the event. He landed and the car service is bringing him here. Thankfully he won't have to deal with traffic but the roads are gross. Need to make sure he gets here.

I have to admit, some of your posts about travel...I think about the movie "Up In The Air." Except a bizarro version where everything goes wrong. :o

Do you have a magic number? ;)

There's a woman with whom I used to work who was a big fan. One day our then mutual manager said, "[Peter] Holm will be starting next week."

The coworker then gasps loudly, realizes what she did wrong, and covers her face while sort of laughing.

I then look to her and ask, "Katie, were you thinking of John Holm?" She just nods her head while her arms continue to cover her face and starts really laughing, then turns beet red. It's probably one of those things that you really have to witness live, but funny nonetheless.

For how many years he's been around, doesn't surprise me. Hell, his daughter (who sings half the songs now) is darn near drinking age, if not already.

This was maybe eleven years ago now. He was touring pretty strong then in the region, don't know what his tour schedule looks like these days.

It's constant, but he has definitely taken a backstage to singing compared to the old days. As mentioned, his daughter sings half the sets, other band members contribute as needed.
