Re: Rep Retirement Lodge: 17th Edition: Summer Isn't Just A Stripper's Name

Good morning Lodge.

Pup update for those of you keeping score from home. He is doing quite well and has proven to be quite a resilient pup. Not quite up to full speed but hopefully he will get there. Obviously how this looks in the next few months will be crucial.

So, in researching our pups issue there has been some theories that (particular in large breed dogs) the distemper vaccination can cause HOD. Last Saturday pup received distemper vaccination and Saturday night is when he started experiencing issues. I brought this up to the vets in cityslickerville and they acknowledged it but stated that there was no direct link to support this. This morning I received a call from our vet here in town. They informed me that as typical protocol they reported his situation to the drug manufacturer of the vaccination he received. The drug manufacturer requested that the vet bill here in town be credited back to me and they will pick it up. On Monday I need to email them all other receipts/invoices of expenses incurred due to illness as there is a chance they will pick up entire tab for visit to cityslickerville and might pick up 100% of all vet bills for the rest of his life. Sounds good and I am by no means complaining but w t f ?

You're less likely to sue/etc if they pay for everything. That's my guess. Glad to hear the pup's doing better.

Should have gone to Manny's for dinner. :)
Glad to hear the little dude is recovering!!

Quickest way to get off the phone with a telemarketer who is trying to sell you a free cruise:

Tell them you are on the Do Not Fly list. That kinda wraps things up quickly.

Good Morning, Lodge!

Game 2 of the Cubs/Twins series. I was not happy last night.

I work in an inbound call center, and have realized that the best way to hey chatty people off my line is to just stop talking. Obviously if they ask a question, I answer it. That's my job. But when they are just rambling? Silence. You seem like a nice person, I don't hate you, but I have metrics to meet. :)

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge: 17th Edition: Summer Isn't Just A Stripper's Name

I just have a short tolerance for telemarketers, especially when I can hear other voices kibitzing around in the background. Or when they try to sell me something that they can't pronounce. They generally don't like what happens next.

Now, I had one girl last winter call me on a scholarship drive from a local college that I'm affiliated with due to hockey. She got two sentences in, and forgot her script. Once she admitted that, I was nice to her and ended the call gently. But if you're calling me, trying to sell me a subscription to the Toledo News (when it's actually called the Toledo Blade), and you can't pronounce Toledo correctly, yeah, I'm coming for blood.

Interesting. I agree with Brenthoven.

Agree with Brent and RalphPa, because it reminds me of my recent short-term disability claim (gotta have ALLTHEPAPERWORK...*sigh*).

I really hope the pup is OK though. I'd like a dog myself, but I don't think it's right to lock a dog up for the 8-10 hours a day I'm at work.

Good Morning, Lodge!

The hubby and myself are taking my dad to the Twins/Cubs game.

Happy Father's Day all you Dads!

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge: 17th Edition: Summer Isn't Just A Stripper's Name

Good morning Lodge.

Happy Father's Day.

Thanks for all the good vibes towards pup. Time will dictate outcome. He is acting normal but he is not quite 100% physically. He won't go up or down stairs and he won't attempt the two small steps on our porch. As far as vet bills and manufacturer, I'm going to run with it. If they pick up vet bill and cover 100% of any/all medical bills for life then I'm not sure what I could possibly sue for. It's a dog after all. Might need to look into it for shiats and giggles though.

<---way too cynical person. I was thinking if you submit all the bills they have a way of tracking what happened. (thinking like a med person) Pharma and Insurance don't care about the individual but they are all about data
