Oh it's more like a carrier. :D
With that flat top, you mean?

So Jr is going to join a rec hockey league this winter with some buddies (XL League for TC folks). I hope he doesn't play like an *-hole. From what I hear, and from the kids I know who have gone to play in that league he is well above their playing level (while still being well below varsity high school level).

Tell him to play defense and to not jump up into the rushes, instead rely upon his ability to read a play and make good passes. If he plays like that, he could be a college talent and nobody would care because it'll help keep games close.

His buddy who has played in the league in the past has told him to play defense and play like Mike Rielly, jump up like a forward and score.

ETA: And celly hard!

From someone who's played more than his share of rec league hockey, Jr's friend sounds like a dick.

I wasn't there so I don't know if he was serious or joking, hoping for the latter.

ETA: So Mavsy has purchased tickets for me and Jr for the Gophs at MSUM game in November. Jr is doing a campus tour that Friday and we'll go to dinner then the game.

It's friggin' cold out.

At least it's sunny.

Currently 39° feels like 31°. Nice and balmy here. No mosquitoes. Getting Getting ready to cross the river.

What most people might not know here is that the river in Itasca State Park is the Mississippi, the headwaters to be precise, and it's all of about 12" deep. The Mississippi runs right by where my parents' old cabin was, just north of Aitkin, MN, and at many different points in the river you can literally play catch across the width of the river without fear of losing your ball. The river doesn't really start getting wide until you're near Brainerd (70 miles or so north of St. Cloud).

Building management in my office won't turn on the heat until November, but sitting right next to this poorly insulated window makes things a bit too cool on days like today. Do you think anyone would notice if I started wearing slippers while in the office? They could be classy slippers.

So long as you have a matching cardigan, who would care?

Has anyone been to Harry Potter World in Orlando? I'm going to be in Orlando for work next month and will be staying over a weekend and thought I should go check it out.
