Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #175: More Spring Cleaning

Morning.

America's greatest holiday is finally here!

Baseball Opening Day.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #175: More Spring Cleaning

Good Morning Lodge.

It's raining, as it should on a Monday morning. Dam, we need the rain.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #175: More Spring Cleaning

Morning.

Short week this week; took days off prior, just in case MN got to BOS. Oops. Oh well, at least I can still watch the games here.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #175: More Spring Cleaning

Just got back from a walk through the jungle to and from ruins of an old plantation. Really cool as the jungle is reclaiming it.

Now... off for a dive.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #175: More Spring Cleaning

So this is life with my family.....my brother..... I just got a text from my brother that his flight has been delayed for 2 1/2 hours. So he's now not getting in till 11pm. Greeat.

Are you all as exhausted reading this as I am typing it all out for you?? :)
Yes

And for next week's episode....

Mom and Dad show up .... She also forgot grapes for my brother.

We really need to develop a sitcom.

Ths whole week is going to be a Tuesday.
and the latest installment on As Scarlet's Head Spins? (ASHS)

First baseball game of the year and I am already in frustrated Cubs fan mode.
I don't do baseball but Mr was watching last night. I was frustrated too. Can't imagine what it feels like when you know what is supposed to happen...

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #175: More Spring Cleaning

Who's going to be here besides DL & Mel? Who else? Y'all want to get together Friday evening? Or y'all already have plans?

I'm in. We're probably going to be in the downtown area most of the weekend. No plans for Friday evening, either.

With no offense to Gurt, I pray Duke wins tonight. I don't need to hear about a stupid basketball national championship from all of my UW friends, three of whom are my best friends, for years to come.

And two of Duke's biggest named players are from MN, I'm told. I'd have to research the names, but I remember one of the local sports shows clamoring about it while I was only half paying attention.

Just tell them the truth...that basketball ranks somewhere between badmitten and women's lawn jarts on your give-a-**** scale.

Scarlet, mookie, etc, are there areas in Boston that we may stumble upon that we don't want to be walking? I imagine there are, because there are those places in all cities. I just want to know where to avoid. We're just looking at walking most places, and staying mostly in the downtown area, checking out the freedom trail, and visiting some breweries.

South Boston is nice this time of year.

I just went to McDonald's for lunch. i don't like McDonald's and very rarely go there. But the folks who think they deserve $15/hr for flipping burgers and screwing up my drive-through order pizzed me off enough that I thought I'd go get a $5 value meal just once to support the Owners.

Honestly, the worst area you will see is the block or two around your hotel. If you remain around the garden and back bay and in the business district you're fine. Harvard Sq is fine. Orange line farther than back bay is iffy (this includes northeastern at Mass Ave station if you get out of the T and turn south).
There will be people everywhere you are planning to be and you will prolly never be be yourselves on scetchy streets.

scetchy streets are where the massage parlors are though! :D

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #175: More Spring Cleaning

It's all good. Whoever we're all rooting for or against will have no bearing on the outcome anyway.

Off to a night dive  in an hour or so...
