Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #175: More Spring Cleaning

Jeep getting looked at during F4 weekend. About the only time my bro could get me in.

Also, he finally told the 'rents that he bought a 2014 Harley. Last Black Friday. :D It'd been in storage until that last warm stretch we had. He simply rode up the driveway, revved it a bit. He said he heard mom say, "(Bro's) here....ON A MOTORCYCLE?!" Dad: "Oh, Jesus Christ. What the hell...."

Being former EMTs, they are not fond of motorcycles. Then they found out I knew, and they were all the faux aghast that they were basically the last to know. :) They still don't like the idea, but they are more accepting of it then my bro and I both thought.
Well, its not exactly like they can ground you guys any more. Write you out of the will perhaps....
Oh yeah and had my first Cuban coffee this morning.

Yeah, I'm AWAKE now.
So that's what kids are calling it these days. ;-)

Your holdup is in Detroit? I'm so sorry for your loss. What's been taken from you? Has anybody died since you landed?

The new terminal is OK, so long as he doesn't leave it he'll be fine.

If he's at the terminal, he's still 20-25 miles from Detroit. He's safe. My house is roughly the same distance to Toledo, and I'm in another state.
Yeah, the airport and the stadiums/downtown Detroit areas are alright, there's cops there. Its further out in some of the neighborhoods that you would be worried about. A lot of them are alright, but some of them are in the Clark Griswald "Roll em' up" category.

Took the shoebox in today and got my taxes done. Grrrr... is that ever a racket. turns out that for 2014 the government wanted me to send them money in advance instead of just sending them all one big check after I did my taxes. Stinking fees.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #175: More Spring Cleaning

Found out that my nemesis in sales and marketing is "no longer with the company" today. I don't know the details but I'm thinking it a voluntary not a firing. I'm just hoping that the backfill is a little easier to work with.

You didn't know about the required quarterly estimated tax payments?

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #175: More Spring Cleaning

If you take the info to someone to do the taxes they should have told you about quarterly estimates. Fire them.

This will be funny if Hammer does his taxes. Especially when he comes in here and complains about the idiot with a shoebox that didn't know the law. :D

Do you think I would be physically able to post here if I had brought in a shoe box to Hammer? I would have been his first victim in a shovel beating rampage across Adrian. I ain't that stupid.

Besides, I had everything in there organized, sorted and added up. About the only adding we really had to do is for my mileage because I forgot to count it both ways.

Think I might have been more worried about getting health insurance last year than worrying about quarterly estimates. Got it set up so I'll do it for 2015.

There is a subtle but noticeable hint at my company that says whether the employee was fired or voluntarily left.

"Joe Blow is no longer with the company. We wish him the best in his future endeavors." The underlined is not always said. ;)

That..certainly did not happen.

Some fabulous lightning strikes around me currently. Brent would really enjoy the show.

I could do without the 45 mph gusts, though.

Good Morning, Lodge!

Dam Edina grocery store and their fancy store displays. It has been driving me bonkers all week.

Without being specific, ours are very straight forward without stating that we canned someone's arse. It's much like what you wrote, though written in a professional manner, for people who have taken another position. With people who've been canned, those emails are rare but will read, "Peggy Sue is no longer with the company. Please contact Bobby Jo for [such and such] needs."

Learned yesterday that my job at my school, which is part time now, is going full time next year. While I assumed this would be a great thing because I want to be full time, it means that because its a different job, the school/district has to post it to other applicants. First it will be posted internally, then if it's not filled it would be posted to the general public. At that point I could apply. Stinks I have to essentially interview for my own job and may not even get a crack at it but...that's the breaks.

Best of luck!!

WWE uses that EXACT nomenclature when they fire somebody. It's to the point the company picked up on it and uses it as part of the show (what us rasslin' nerds call "kayfabe."
