Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #174: Spring Cleaning

HHT, and Bemidji's fanbase is about to receive an influx of good juju from the general vicinity of Houghton, Michigan.

Come over to my table. I've been here since about 5 pm.

thanks.

had some interesting exchanges with Penn State fans. some good, some not. spent an entire intermission talking to an usher, he remembered us from last year. he said we are the loudest visiting fans, so at least we got that going for us.

Why am I not shocked? :)

No, seriously. The only comparable B1G arenas are Kohl and Mariucci. Kohl is currently dead for obvious reasons, and the Mooch is overrated (yeah, I said it).

Mariucci is a great arena, but the atmosphere is a bit, well, old. It's expensive to watch a game there.

Watching the Minnesota State High School League hockey tournament, and it's like a walk through my childhood. They're talking about the Gopher recruit Jack Sadek, whose father is Brett Sadek, who grew up in my neighborhood and was QB for Rosemount's only state championship team (played D-1). Altavila's name keeps coming up, who I'm willing to bet is my middle school teacher's kid since my teacher lived in Lakeville. The head coach is Trent Eigner, whose family was good friends with my best friend's family, and his mom was another teacher at my school. Just weird.

The Mecca makes me sad. I love it, but yes, it's too corpie/old. It should be loud and rowdy...intimidating. It's not, really. Ghosts live there now. That's the only intimidation.

Also, that Edina-East games was entertaining. I honestly didn't think East had THAT in them.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #174: Spring Cleaning

21,609 in attendance....for a high school hockey game. Not even the championship. Your move, MI/MA. :D

*HT

At least I stopped at the local store to pick up some Wisconsin brews before heading home.

In regards to THE tourney... Lakeville has 3 SCSU recruits. Shocking I know.

McNaughton is still in play. Thank you, Beavers.

You are welcome. BSU had a tough first half of the season. Since the Minnesota Cup they have been playing some decent hockey. This team could find a way to extend their season for a bit.

Just win tomorrow night.

Notre Dame and UMASS are currently in the midst of the longest game in NCAA history. More than half way through their 5th OT.

Sorry Mark, gonna have to sit through another all night affair to reclaim the longest game status.
