Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #173: (Insert Title)

Good evening Lodge.

Just planned a quick camping trip to SE MN for four days mid August. In addition to that trip I have two outings planned for September. A five day trip lined up for mid October and a four day trip for mid November. All my fall camping will be in northern MN. I am finalizing a trip for December as well. To date the g family has camped 18 nights in the tent this season.

Work has been crazy (behind the scenes stuff) the past few months. Now the work (not behind the scenes stuff) really begins.

It wouldn't be around the Rochester area, would it? There's a nice campground (well, it was nice when I went there in my younger years) called Wazionja.

Whitewater State Park SE of Winona. Seems like a decent state park. Except for the YouTube video I watched of a park ranger catching a 4 or 5 foot long timber rattlesnake!!!!!!!!!!

That's a nice area. In H.S. I did the American Lung Assoc weekend bike rides from Hastings to Winona. Lots of scenery. You'll enjoy it.

I have never been to Winona. Red Wing and the lake Pepin area is about as close as I have gotten.

Pepin Cider (out of Pepin Heights, near Lake City) is a great beverage (N/A, so hush). Dunno if you will pass through there, though.

Pretty much all of MN SE of Rochester has those rattlers, especially the hilly areas. They're the only venomous creatures in the state.

So the PGA Professional at the club I work at has been in the ICU in Rochester for almost a month now. He hired me 5 years ago and has had a great impact on my life. He's been great to work for and one of the most genuinely nice guys I know. Hoping things turnaround but it looks bleak.

You don't have to be SE of Rochester. We've found them in the bluffs of Red Wing.

Good Morning Lodge. Back at the salt mine again today. Short day again though to go to PT later. Still only 24 hours this week, hope to be full time next week.

Sorry to hear that Mavsy. :( Hope he recovers.

gmann, we used to have family reunion picnics at Whitewater when I was quite small. My dad had cousins in Toma, WI who would come over and it was about equal drives for the TC branches of the family. Have not been there since though.

Morning.

Sounds like our cat (14-15 yrs old) is starting to come to his end.

Has kidney disease and has started puking constantly.

F that. I have a permit to carry. Looks like I'm packing heat down there. ;)

.44 mag Desert Eagle with laser sights or the 9mm Glock?

I'd probably go with the 9mm for snake killing. But then, I really don't have any problem with overkill, so the Desert Eagle would be just fine in my book. :D

(I'd probably carry my .357 instead of my 9mm, but that is because I have a 6 in. barrel on the .357 so it is a bit more accurate to shoot)

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #173: (Insert Title)

Lived in LaCrosse for 5 years and never once saw a rattler in all of the time that I was up and around those bluffs. Certainly never felt like I needed a weapon to protect me from one.

You can walk away from a snake. ;)
