Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #173: (Insert Title)
Finally got a deck box that wasn't busted up. Decided to just return the one we had, and re-evaluate. Decided to go with a smaller version, that was made by Rubbermade, because **** if they can bust up something made by Rubbermade. The box didn't have a price on it, so we asked one of the workers about it, she pulled it off the top shelf and just let the thing fall to the floor. No wonder they are breaking things! Luckily, this was Rubbermade, so it is pretty much bulletproof. Turned out that it was on sale, so it was actually cheaper than the other one, and it doubles as a bench, so we have extra seating too. Got it put together, and it looks like it will work out well.
We also picked up a bunch of stuff that was on our registry, that we didn't get. We had a ton of cash/checks/gift cards, so we had plenty of money to do this. We only got half of the flatware we asked for, so we went to Macy's and filled that out. Got some containers for storing flour/sugar/pasta/etc in, that my wife wanted. I got the smoker that I wanted from Menards, and picked up a brisket to smoke next weekend.
Then we decided that we didn't have nearly enough storage space in our kitchen, with all of the new stuff we got, even after cleaning out a bunch of the old stuff. So we went to a bunch of furniture stores, and finally found something we wanted. Picked up a buffet/kitchen island to put between our kitchen and dining room, it has a little more storage space, but also more counter-top space, and more drawers. Then we also got a wooden chest/box to keep our wedding keepsakes in.
We ended up with a pile of cardboard that took up the entire dining room, so I decided I had no option but to burn it. Wife seemed to think that it is illegal to burn garbage, but I'm a farm kid, and we burned everything that burned. So **** the state and their asinine laws. If I want to burn garbage, I will burn my garbage.
