Thanks. The ride up 35 was nice. Very flat...

I looked down into the Minnesota football stadium on the approach to MSP, and saw the Xcel on the way out of the airport. So far, what I've seen of Superior is... um... not good. My mom called the neighborhood "seedy". Very industrial and dirty. We'll see what tomorrow brings. The homestead where the wedding will be is 16 miles south of the bay... 200+ acres of farmland and woods.
Yeah... did we mention that Superior is...not a nice town, per say? Probably would have been better off staying in Duluth, Downtown or Canal Park.

Glad I wasnt the only one thinking it, Congrats Shirtless!

Good Evening, Lodge!

I don't know how to feel right now. The CEO of the company I work for called me and a few others to his office and told us that my boss's wife asked for a divorce and asked us to take over the next few days. I am shocked as no one expected this. I am gut-wrenched as he is my boss, but worse is that both of them are my friends. It is going to be a few rough days ahead.

5hitty situation, but I can definitely respect the boss that reaches out for help whether the reason is personal or professional based.

The CEO is my boss's father. It made me have more respect for him that he asked for assistance during this time. On the plus side, my boss has been in communication with me via email about some work issues. That is a good sign to say the least.

If Shirtless is having Onesies, holy buckets has this crowd really changed over the past year or two!

And "how we do business..." OK, Ray Barboni from Miami. ;)

Sorry to hear, LWB. Never a good thing.

I always love the quote:

No no no no, F you, Fball, Miami is an open city.

That whole scene is classic.

Downtown SUCKS at night. Crackheads and alcoholics (not the good kind) everywhere. I'm bothered less for money or cigarettes walking around MPLS at night.

This is true for Duluth AND Superior, as far as panhandling. I have found Superior to be a more rundown city (esp since Duluth totally redid downtown with the new arena), but there are parts.....

So lots of places to dump the body?

Good morning Lodge. Last day of work for me this week, yay. Taking Friday off.

I've had one of my headaches the last couple if days. Went to bed around 8pm after taking an Excedrin Migraine. Woke up around 10:40, hockey game was still on, took two more and went back to bed when the game was over. Got to the T station this morning and it was crowded so I got on the train going the other way the last two stops do I could get a seat.

After thinking I was done traveling for a while, turns out I now need to go to Birmingham and Charlotte next week, leaving Sunday morning.

I've never had that problem in Downtown Duluth, but I haven't spent much time there, and it has always been Friday/Saturday night, and it was all college kids out and about.

Go up the hill in Duluth and you'll find some pretty sketchy parts towards the top.

And yes, unfortunately, Superior really is a dump.

Charlottes airport is fairly nice.

Yep. Went through there on the way to St. Thomas. Was impressed.

Don't miss out on the porch rockers!

How exactly is up the hill downtown?

It's a glacier thing.

I believe that just outside of Superior is where the guy got arrested for diddling da dearly departed deer. It's the city that my Wisconsin friends like to say isn't really part of WI, that it's a district unto itself.

When talking to the locals, use "da" instead of "the" and you'll fit in just fine.
