I found the single malt I'm getting for the wedding! Well, the night before. And not spending as much as I had planned, so that is a bonus. Local liquor store ordered it in, and I'm picking it up after work. For those wondering, it is an Islay, and it is from one of my favorite distillers. :D

Good morning Lodge. Last day of work for me this week, yay. Taking Friday off.

I've had one of my headaches the last couple if days. Went to bed around 8pm after taking an Excedrin Migraine. Woke up around 10:40, hockey game was still on, took two more and went back to bed when the game was over. Got to the T station this morning and it was crowded so I got on the train going the other way the last two stops do I could get a seat.

After thinking I was done traveling for a while, turns out I now need to go to Birmingham and Charlotte next week, leaving Sunday morning.

Birmingham isn't anything to write home about. Fairly generic regional airport. The rental car center is a little bit of a hike, but right on the airport grounds. Not as bad as NOLA though.

Hump day for me. 14 days left on the boat.

Congrats, Almington.

Good evening Lodge! So happy tonight, spending time with my girlfriend and watching Red Cloud become a whiny little female dog.

You'll have to let me know what it is. I think I have my choices down to 2-3 for my cigar/scotch night.

Congrats!

Looking forward to spending some time in the tent with the family over the next several days. I hope the weather cooperates.

Rubette and I have a dinner with one of her friends/husband on Sat. Haven't met this one, should be interesting. She's unsure about me. Other than that, a grillout with my family on Father's Day, and that's about it.

I was lookinh at their website...we should probably buy a bottle of that 44 year old Samaroli....
I inquired about the Highland 50YO and Balvenie 40YO scotches...probably not in this lifetime. The Samaroli is possible. I was looking at the Laphroaig 25 Cask, Balvenie 30, and the Macallan 25 Sherry.

The stuff I got wasn't that expensive, but I was more worried about getting one that tasted how I wanted, so I went through tasting notes and reviews and found one that fit. Basically, I'd rather have a younger Islay than spend more for an older speyside. :p

Edit: I guess its not a secret...I got the Lagavulin Distillers Edition Pedro Ximenez cask aged.

Survived my first full day in Superior. Cold and windy all day with some rain as well... the temp never rose above 57. Went out to the future son-in-law's parents farm way out of town. Nice spread in the middle of nowhere. Also had to go to the Duluth airport to pick up one of my daughter's friends. Duluth, at least the little I saw of it, seems much nicer than Superior.

Tomorrow it's back to the homestead to start setting up stuff for Saturday. The forecast is for rain all day so it looks like the kids will be getting married indoors which isn't sitting too well with my daughter. I told her if that's all that goes wrong then things won't be so bad. She wasn't having any of that reasoning.

No disrespect to those that live here, but I can't wait to get out of Wisconsin!
