First morning of the year with coffee on the deck and it's beautiful out.

Good morning indeed. :)

Also - the 7 freshman boys that spent the night after my son's party last night slept on our basement floor despite the fact that there are several couches, beds and padded carpet throughout the rest of the house.

I'm still waiting for them to grow out of their stupid phase...

Was a great party - by HS freshman standards. He actually had quite a few girls show up. Nicely done, son.

Good morning Lodge. Good to be home. It was POURING earlier this morning and it sounded like rain was coming in my bedroom window, It wasn't. Not sure what was happening there.

Need to run to the bank to get my check all set for the closing. I'm putting down a lump sum to decrease the amount of principal of my loan. That was one reason I was annoyed that I felt I was being pushed to close so quickly as I wasn't going to be able to get it since I was supposed to fly home today. But whatever. This long national nightmare will soon be over!!

Good Afternoon, Lodge!

Mr and I went out for breakfast at a great hole-in-the-wall place in Eagan, and then went to the State Fair Grounds for a craft fair. I know the people putting on the show and several vendors. Afterwards, Mr saw the Twins game was starting shortly, so we stopped at the office to watch the game. Now enjoying the evening on the deck with beer.

I was a good nephew today.
My aunt (& Godmother), who lives in Kimball, MN (near St. Cloud) has suffered from seizures & related issues since she was 4 months old. This past week she had some serious seizures and was in the hospital for five days or so as her meds were regulated. It was so bad at one point they thought she may have had a stroke and my uncle & cousins took turns staying at the hospital. Today I needed to drive to SJU (also near St. Cloud) to start bringing YE's stuff home so I stopped by & surprised her with flowers. I don't get to see her very often so it was fun to see & surprise her. :)

LWB - What place? Always looking for a good hole-in-the-wall joint!
Was on Snelling today..crazy craft people drive like poop. :)

4.5 years for me, because I added a finance minor late.

And yes, you probably should have a finance course mixed in somewhere, regardless of your major. I would also recommend some type of a "principles of investing" course in there as well. Presumably, you're going to graduate from college and have a decent job. You probably don't want to **** all your money away.

Went to lift the lid on my grill for the first time. Found out that a bird has used the majority of it for a nest, and has baby birds in there now. ****ing lovely.

Yep it was pouring rain on and off this AM and then hazy son.
<===This idiot forgot sunscreen. Now my face is on fire and is an interesting shade of redpurple.
ON the happy side Lil qualified for States and then ran a leg of the 4 X 800- qualified for States in that too. Phew!

It was a long, strange, trip for me. :)
Academic casualty at tUMD after four quarters (85-86)
Couple half-arsed years at Lakewood CC (now Century College) - somehow got my AA degree in '91
Went back to Lakewood to complete some prerequisites in 93-94 while working full time & we had just started a family
Graduated from Metro State in 99 - second kid arrived during this time
Graduated with MA from Hamline in 04

Can't start any lower at a corporation than I did, started at Mother Mining in 90 - I will say cleaning terlets is wonderful motivation to do well in school. So is knowing they will reimburse my tuition costs if I met their academic requirements. :)

You are starting to secretly becoming at SCSU fan. :D

The place is called Hovies off of 35E and Yankee Doodle. Just east of Pilot Knob Road. Excellent breakfast. They are only open till 2pm daily. Great, great food and have a bunch of crazy things on the wall. In regards to the craft fair, I was there to show support and buy a Doctor Who bag/purse. The organizers do a great job and I had to support them. I wouldn't be surprised if a green SUV cut you off as Mr. was driving.

Good evening Lodge.

Congrats to Lil!

I busted my azz in college and worked full time and killed numerous brain cells and I finished in 4 years. My GPA was respectable.

Little g had his first ball game in St. Cloud today. He had a blast and played quite well. He enjoys it but he is stuck in the middle and he is often frustrated by that. Meaning, he cannot play with his peers and the majority of kids playing in this league don't know what planet they are on. It's all or nothing with nothing in the middle.

Did a little shopping in St. Cloud after the game. St. Cloud has really changed. Anyone who is familiar with the area knows that most of the population comes from family trees that rarely fork but now the place has taken on another identity altogether. Not bad just different.

Happy Mothers Day to all the mothers in the Lodge!!!!!!!!!!

Oh trust me, I know the definition of branching out the St. Cloud families. It really is a small world up in St, Clooud.

Solid job avoiding me while we were in the same area. ;)

My mother-in-laws family is from the Melrose/New Munich area, the forks on the family tree look more like a knife...glad she escaped to Cityslickerville when she did.

We stopped near St. John's on the way home and checked out the straw forts or whatever they are called...........

To a woman from Cottage Grove, originally. :p

Same difference....

I work with people from Cottage Grove and their fellow classmates are bigger methheads than anyone in St. Cloud.

I just realized, I made my husband escape the inbred world of Gilman and made him live in the somewhat burbs of 3 major cities since we have been together.
