Morning Lodge. Happy Mothers Day all you mothers...

Went to lift the lid on my grill for the first time. Found out that a bird has used the majority of it for a nest, and has baby birds in there now. ****ing lovely.

Mmm, grilled baby birds, great appetizer. ;)

Jr and I failed to kill a turkey at bigblue's family farm yesterday. I'm not much of a hunter so I placed our blind where we were looking into the sun. We did call a flock of 5 in toward our decoys, but when we were trying to get a better look at them while dealing with the sun we moved too much or made too much noise and spooked the big tom. He started walking away and flock eventually followed. :( We hope to try again next week with the blind positioned with the sunrise at our back.

Good morning Lodge and Happy Mother's Day to all the Lodge Moms! Took my mom and my aunt/godmother out last night to a benefit event. I think we're going out for a late lunch/early dinner. And then for ice cream!

I woke up to a text from a close friend who let me know her Mom passed away last night. Hug your moms today peeps. :( and your dads and people you consider a parent-like figure in your lives.

Full weekend. Topped off with my bro and I making eggs-in-a-bag "omelettes" for mom for Mother's Day. She also dug out some stuff from my and my bro's grade/high school days for memory's sake, and we looked through those, then looked at some stuff she had from her youth. She also found spare copies of a photo in a newspaper of my grandpa to give us, when he was manned at a US checkpoint in Germany soon after WWII was over. I thought that was pretty awesome.
